ATHLETE FEATURE 💫
“My name is Patrick Patnett, and I am currently a senior in high school. I first started running track in primary school during Standard 4, but I stopped in Standard 5. When I began high school, I returned to the sport and quickly developed a strong passion for it. Since then, track and field has become my main focus and a major part of my life.
I primarily compete in the 400m and 200m events, but I am also versatile in other events such as the 800m, 5K, 4×100m relay, and 4×400m relay. Recently, I proudly brought home six medals from the regional championships in Corozal and one medal from the national championships in George Town.”
We’re thankful that youth athlete Patrick reached out to us! We wish him the best in his athletic journey and look forward to seeing him compete at the national level!!

We spoke with jordi escalante about his athletic journey and this is what he had to say:
“I am sixteen years old, and my name is Jordi. I first started throwing javelin when I was 14 years old. At the beginning, I honestly wasn’t good at it at all, I could barely throw. I was disappointed in myself, but deep down, something sparked in my heart to keep going.
I had no coach, no fancy equipment, just one javelin and a burning passion to become better. Every single day, I trained as hard as I could with whatever I had or could make for training. I spent hours on YouTube studying the form and techniques of the great athletes I looked up to, trying to learn and improve little by little.
Then came my very first competition: the regional high school division. Surprisingly, I won. That was the first victory of my life, and it only took five months of hard work, dedication, and belief in myself to get there.
That moment changed everything for me. It made me realize that if I truly wanted to make my dreams a reality, I had to keep pushing forward no matter what obstacles came my way.
Now, at sixteen years old, I still carry that same big heart and determination. None of this would have been possible without the presence and guidance of Almighty God, who gave me the strength to keep going even when things were difficult.”
Jordi has also been on the podium at track meets within our region, we keep on wishing him the best in his athletic journey!!! LETS GO TEAM BELIZE 🇧🇿 💪
