In August 2025, Dylan Levy came to me looking to take his performance to the next level. After completing his initial metabolic assessment, it was clear where the gaps were. His previous training lacked structure—too many unproductive group rides that kept him stuck in “no-man’s-land” intensities, yielding little progress. Using his metabolic data, I built a targeted plan. The first step was removing all group rides and replacing them with structured sessions designed to raise his anaerobic threshold. We dialed in his nutrition, and over just 3.5 months he dropped from 193 lbs to 170 lbs—dramatically improving his power-to-weight ratio. Consistent long, low-intensity rides boosted his VO₂max, and then we focused on reducing his VLamax to raise his maximum lactate steady-state power. The results were undeniable. In just three months, Dylan’s power profile rose to the level of a Category 1–2 cyclist on the global charts. And then came the moment that validated all the work—Dylan winning his first elite road race, right in his hometown, just a few houses from where he grew up, surrounded by his community. To make the day even more special, all four cyclists I coach finished 1st through 4th for their G-Flow team. A complete sweep. When my athletes win, it’s a win for me too—and this was a big one.
