The Split is one of Belize's most well known tourist attractions. What started off as a channel was eventually widened by Hurricane Hattie in 1961. You can now find this hot spot crowded with locals and visitors enjoying this incredible view.

Seaweed farming is one of Belize's newest emerging industries. Not only is seaweed easy to cultivate, it's also packed with protein, iron, calcium and other macronutrients. This growing industry could serve as a source of employment as well as local food production, easing pressure on local fish stocks and eventually reducing overfishing.
