Kelly Rees and her husband Chris, daughter Sofie and son Sam enjoyed the morning cooking Mayan style at our kitchen. They prepared all their meals on fire hearths. They loved cutting their banana leaves from the garden which kinda opened up their expectations for the rest of the morning. They chopped veggies for a soup, made hand made corn tortillas, stirred all the pots, and made Mayan tamales. Wonderful family.

Saturday we had a group of 30 Belizean youths visiting the kitchen to experience the ancient chocolate drink. Knowing kids that age I knew they would like it if I brought out milk and sugar as I normally do for kids, and I was absolutely right. They loved the drink and most came bk for seconds and a couple compared it to "Milo" , saying it tasted like it. So happy they enjoyed it and I don't as able to share a little bit of our Mayan heritage to our very own.
