We are excited about transitioning into our new business model to better serve our clients under the present conditions. As a result we are scaling down the size of our facility since we no longer require both training floors and are letting our members have first dibs on any equipment we are selling. In response to the Coronavirus, we have taken additional measures to raise the standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

There are two hand sanitizer stations on the top floor and one on the lower floor.
The frequency of cleaning has been increased and additional sterilization has been added.
We will continue to closely monitor the evolving situation and will keep you informed

We will keep you updated on our website and through social media if there are any changes to the schedule. We are experiencing unprecedented times and we are taking things day by day.

It is highly recommended for participants to shower before and after training to contribute to a safe and rewarding environment for all. If you or your children are experiencing any symptoms (fever, cough, sniffle, etc.) please stay home until the symptoms pass. If you’ve been on a plane, outside the country in the past 14 days, or if you’re going away for spring break, please implement a 14-day self-quarantine when you return.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE:
This is not an easy announcement for us to make. As all of you know the COVID-19 situation has evolved rapidly over the past few days and many businesses are shutting down during these difficult times. We are hard at work behind the scenes to take immediate action to stop all EFT payments to lighten everyone’s load. We will work out the details of how we will resume training once some normalcy returns. Our mission is to support our community through providing the best, most effective self-defence and health improvement training. During this time, we will be turning our attention to improving our product and looking at options for online classes. We hope to turn this time of stress into a time of opportunity.
In the meantime, we encourage you to take advantage of this rare opportunity to focus on your health and your family. Enjoy your loved ones and practice resilience of body, mind and spirit through the self-care practices taught in class. This too shall pass, stay focused and we will see you all on the other side!

Again, please check our website for updates as we navigate these challenging times and take a moment to consider the following health advice from our friends at Systema HQ in Toronto

SYSTEMA’S HEALTH TIPS:

Keep up with all the familiar preventative measures.
In addition to that, in Systema we strive to adhere to the principles of strong spirit, health practices, and sincere care for each other.

Remain calm and do not let any of the panic affect you.

Use Systema breathing and Systema massage and visceral pressures for a balanced psyche, stable nervous system, and therefore, a stronger immune system.

Your central nervous system and your immune system are very closely related. If one is strained, the other suffers. Thus, use your breathing, exercises, and healthy mind approach to remain calm and positive. This will keep your nervous system functioning well and will keep your immunity strong.

Strengthen your immune system by:
- Eating healthy food, consuming less sugar, and staying hydrated. It is a good idea to start your day with a big cup of warm lemon water.
- All Systema breathwork practices (especially slow core exercises and walking drills) are ideal to keep your mind clear and your body powerful
- Cold water dousing

Here is an excerpt from Vladimir Vasiliev’s Russian System Guidebook, the chapter “Introduction to the Russian Health System”:

“Strengthening the Body with Water
This involves pouring a bucket of cold water over your body twice a day. While I don't require this of my students, I will stress it to those who are open-minded to it. As a result, many have caught on to its benefits.

…It's a simple procedure. You just fill up a large bucket with icy cold water, as cold as you can get it from the tap and pour it over yourself. Ideally, this should be done every day. You can start pouring from the chest and onto the face and top of the head.

This procedure both stimulates and strengthens the body's central nervous system and overall immune system. Here's how it works: The body reacts to the cold water by very rapidly increasing its core body temperature. It's much as if you were running a fever except that the rise in temperature is immediate and only lasts less than a second.

It's almost like having a mini-explosion take place inside of you. Your body temperature rises to nearly 42.2 degrees Celsius (that's nearly 108 degrees Fahrenheit). It feels like a pleasant warmth and surge of energy inside right after the dowsing. Meanwhile, this explosion of warmth will kill off most bacteria and viruses. Indeed, 40 degrees Celsius is deadly for most viruses and bacteria and this procedure raises body temperature the extra 2 degrees Celsius (and nearly 4 Fahrenheit) above that!

…Think of it this way. Cold is the most powerful stimulant in our metabolism. Nothing makes the body work faster than cold. It is the best way to mobilize our body's reserves to pull together and fight weakness. Pouring cold water over your head and body causes your central nervous system to call upon each part of your organism to work better and direct more energy to weaker areas.

This procedure has become very popular with my students. They find that it not only aids overall health but also leads to a better, more energetic performance in the gym.”
