This past season, the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds community mourned the loss of two cherished family members, Jason Herfst and Kelsey Carignan.

Jason Herfst was a part of our Tbirds family through his son, Zach, who has played with us for four years. Jason could always be found at the rink, bringing a warm smile and unwavering support to Zach’s games. His dedication to the sport and encouragement to all players created a sense of community and spirit among us. Jason’s will be profoundly missed, but the joy he brought to our rink will remain etched in our memories.

Kelsey Carignan was a beloved supporter of our Tbirds family as her son, Noah, has been with us for two years. Whether she was cheering from the stands or engaging with our community online, Kelsey was always there, exuding positivity and kindness. Her enthusiasm and heartfelt messages resonated with everyone, as she celebrated our achievements and rallied support for all players. Kelsey’s vibrant spirit will not be forgotten, and her contributions to our community will continue to inspire us.

Both Jason and Kelsey are deeply missed by all who knew them. Their absence has been felt throughout the Tbirds family, and we extend our heartfelt love and support to the Herfst and Carignan families. They will forever remain in our hearts and memories.
