Weekday Practices Start at 4PM 🫍

We apologize for the late schedule changes as our club navigates the news that the City has changed our regularly scheduled pool times. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we adjust to these changes.

All weekday practices (Monday–Friday) will now start 30 minutes later than originally scheduled.

🕓 If your child was scheduled for 3:30PM → they will now attend at 4:00PM

🕔 If your child was scheduled for 4:30PM → they will now attend at 5:00PM

🕕 If your child was scheduled for 5:30PM → they will now attend at 6:00PM

Recently, Carmen Fast Hollett-Abbotsford City Council Candidate 2026 and Patricia Driessen - City Councillor, City of Abbotsford had the opportunity to attend the Abbotsford Whalers Regional Swim Meet and see firsthand the dedication of our local swimmers, coaches, volunteers and families.

It was also an opportunity to listen to Whalers Board members share their thoughts and concerns about the future of recreation and aquatic facilities in Abbotsford.

As our community continues to grow, we need to think boldly about what our recreation infrastructure will look like for future generations. When it comes to the new MSA Aquatic Centre, we believe we have to take every opportunity to get it right... creating a facility that meets the needs of today while serving swimmers, families and our broader community for years to come.

We loved being there to cheer on the athletes, celebrate their accomplishments and hear directly from the people who know our aquatic community best.

Listening. Showing up. Thinking ahead. That’s part of responsible leadership.

If your child has an interest in swimming, staying active through the colder months, or sharpening their technique before summer, the Abbotsford Whalers Winter Maintenance Program is getting ready to kick off! 🏊‍♂️✨

Winter maintenance is designed to keep swimmers feeling confident and strong in the water without the intensity of peak competition season. It’s an ideal way to build endurance, refine stroke mechanics, and stay connected with teammates and coaches through the fall and winter.

What to expect:

Technique & Stroke Refinement: Focus on clean mechanics across all four strokes, starts, and turns.

Consistent Conditioning: Keep swim-fit and active through weekly coached pool sessions.

Fun, Supportive Team Atmosphere: Great for both returning summer swimmers and newer athletes looking to bridge the gap before the summer season.

Spots are limited to keep lane sizes manageable and coaching feedback personalized.

Whether your swimmer is aiming to improve their times or just loves being in the pool, we’d love to have them join us!

Registration for the Abbotsford Whalers opens tonight, September 1 at 8:00 PM!

Whether your swimmer is just beginning their journey with our Junior Whalers, developing their skills in Developmental, or ready for the challenge of Competitive, we have a group to help them grow, build confidence, and become stronger swimmers.

Check out Group Details! All swimmers registered for their group are expected to meet the swim requirements.

Tuesday and Thursdays are reserved for athletes that know and can complete all 4 Strokes.

Monday/Wednesday/Fridays have room in the first hour for children 6 & Under, who need assistance with an In-Water Coach(limited spots available).

Be aware that if your child is signed up in Development, or Competitive over the age of 6 they are required to be able to swim unassisted for an hour practice(with breaks on either end).

Registration is NOW OPEN for our biggest meet of the season!

Don't wait—sign your swimmer up today! Every registration makes a difference, especially in our relay events. Relays are worth double points, help teammates qualify for Provincials, and are key to our goal of defending the Brent Hayden Award for a fourth consecutive year.

Please register as soon as possible to help our coaching staff begin organizing relay teams. Remember, no deck entries will be accepted after the registration deadline.

Let's show up, race hard, and finish the season strong. Go Whalers!

Register for Regionals NOW!!!

Registration is now open for our biggest meet of the season, taking place July 31st–August 2nd.

Please sign up for relays—even if you don't plan on attending Provincials! Relay events are worth double points, and every swimmer helps us in our goal of defending the Brent Hayden Award for a fourth consecutive year. Relay participation can also help teammates qualify for Provincials.

Be sure to check the event schedule and eligibility requirements before registering. No deck entries will be accepted after the deadline, so don't wait to sign up!
