Making progress again! At 22 seconds faster than my best time.
I completed this route yesterday in the afternoon failing to beat the time so I thought I'd give it another go.
To keep up with my previous pace I had to stay uncomfortable today.. I wanted to slow down, I wanted to walk but I knew I was tight for time.
Keeping the intensity up one notch on the straight sections and pushing hard on the uphill climbs were the game breakers on this one.
This may not be a record breaker for anyone whose a regular but it is my best so far and that is a BIG WIN towards MY Summit!
PS. My post run stretch music is to cover up my grunts and groans LOL
Hip flexors, quads, hamstrings, Adductors, Calfs, chest, Thoracic spine stretched and ready for post training nutrition.

What were you born for?
Sure, bills are inevitable. It's a small price to pay for a warm place to eat, sleep and share quality time with loved ones even the fur covered ones.
But many of us strive for more from Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
Don't get me wrong here. Family is one of top priority, and honestly life wouldn't be the same without them.
But we also have goals, dreams and aspirations that fuel our fire to keep improving. The desire to become the most that one can be.
These are the things that bring that sense of fulfillment and pride.
Now there is one thing that is often overlooked...
The journey!
Sure we've all heard it before "it's all about the journey and not the destination" but what does it really mean?
This is the difference between process and product goals.
A product goal is a thing. It's the promotion. The six pack. The destination.
Yes, we have to have the big goal in mind and these can be described as our long term goals..
But often times these aspirations are a daunting task and overwhelm us, tear us down or discourage us when we don't meet them in a desired timeline.
So how do we adapt, overcome and conquer these BIG goals without getting discouraged or burned out?
By applying the process goal approach. By embracing the journey!
Process goals are the secret strategy. The man (or woman) behind the curtain.
All the unseen hardwork that makes success possible, it's the ice below the ice berg.
The things that build habits and compound over time!
Like choosing that lean meal over fast food,
getting up and out of bed over pressing snooze one more time,
or picking up that book over another episode on that Netflix series you've watched 100 times,
It's choosing to get out for that walk, run or next workout.
This doesn't mean product goals are your enemy, it just means they need to be used differently and used to mark the steps not the destination.
Product goals can be milestones on the way to the summit.
So use these product goals to your advantage and celebrate them on your journey.
Celebrate the 10lb off the scale on your way to 30,50 or 100.
Celebrate the week of completed workouts on your way to consistent exercise.
Celebrate the new client you get to help achieve their goals as your business grows!
Go and set your process goals on the way to the summit!
Cheers!
