Twenty years.
That number feels wild to write.
Running and owning a dance studio for two decades has been filled with more ups and downs than I could have ever imagined—late nights, early mornings, happy tears, hard lessons, big wins, and moments of doubt. Along the way, I was also raising a family, growing alongside my husband and our three kids, while somehow growing another family too… our Dance Inc family 🤍
What started as a dream has become a community. A place where confidence was built, friendships were formed, and countless humans discovered who they are through movement. To think of all the dancers who have walked through our doors—and how many of them still carry dance with them in some way today—is truly humbling. Dance has a way of uniting us, long after the music stops.
Durham, thank you for trusting us with your children, your time, and your hearts for 20 years. Thank you to every dancer, parent, teacher, alumni, and supporter who helped shape this journey. You are all part of our story. Some easier to catch in photos than others 😉
If you have ever been a part of our dance family—past or present—we would love nothing more than to celebrate with you.
✨ Join us for our 20th Anniversary Showcase
Saturday, March 14
The Arena Theatre at Pickering Casino
This milestone belongs to all of us. Let’s celebrate the past, the present, and the dance that continues to connect us all 💃🖤

Wrapped up January with keeping promises to myself! ✨
The biggest change I have made is showing up for me the way I would show up for others.
I am usually in charge, leading the class, setting the tone, giving the energy. That means I usually get what’s left. But this year I am choosing to “create” the me time first.
Easiest way that I have built this is by doing my 10 push ups a day. 💪🏼✨
And if you are following along and sick of hearing about it then that’s your sign you should start! 😉
This simple little add on to my day has been the most rewarding because although it has improved my strength, core, and definition in my arms. The real pay off here is the mental win! Doing something hard everyday and getting it done has brought a mental toughness and a trust! And when you earn your own trust because YOU CAN do hard things you become unstoppable.
Can’t wait to hear how many of you are gonna try the 10 Push Up Challenge for February!

Spending these extremely cold days documenting moments that light me up! ✨
January you feel incredibly long but honouring my 2026 word to “create”
Highlight of this week was creating joy by teaching an adult dance class at my studio. Something I haven’t done in 20 years, I am so glad I did and it will not be the last! 💃🏼
As we enter the final week of January slow down and take some time to enjoy the life you have created.
Do more of what makes you happy 😊
Less of what drains you 🪫
And if you are tired of being tired… GET MOVING!!! 💃🏼🪩⚡️♥️

Ditching the Sunday scaries to be proud of all I’ve accomplished in this 2nd week of January.
✔️Three strength training workouts.
✔️One hot Yoga.
✔️One hot Pilates.
✔️Daily 10,000 steps.
✔️Minimum of 10 push-ups a day.
✔️Production week. (Really proud of this one!)
✔️Snow day slow day.
✔️Final costume designs.
✔️Took my vitamins everyday!
✔️Kept my 3 kids alive & to all their practices, rehearsals & games.
✔️My husband kept us fed.
✔️Our house is a mild 5/10 clean.
Instead of freaking out about a new week remember to take a moment to relish in all you HAVE done before you put this week down. We’re doing it! 🫶🏼✨

Taking the day to time travel back to 2016, it seems to be the trend.
A Boy Mom at that time Boston 3, Maverick 1, we were celebrating our 10th season of business at the studio. I was figuring out how to balance it all and yet still trying to rediscover who I was now that I was a mom to 2 little boys.
This was the year I fell in love with fitness and seeing just how incredible the body is to be a home to a human and then transform. 💪🏼
This was the era of snap chat filters and man buns. Pleather pants and chunky necklaces. We were down for it all. Fully engulfed in the studio I never took mat leave or put my kids to bed on a regular basis and I am truly thankful for the family that did. But it makes me sad to think I sacrificed time with these little faces. 🥹
It’s why our Hawaiian get away became so important to us. To see the boys run and play in the sand, to have the Hawaiian breeze, slow coffee mornings and naps in the afternoons, even if it was for only 2 weeks it grounded us. It was our OHANA time 🌺
Seeing how no matter how far back I scroll I will find screen shots of quotes that braid themselves into my life and I can see a window into how and what I was feeling that very month, week or day. 🫶🏼
Looking back can be a gift if you can recognize the growth. I would say to my 2016 self, buckle up it’s gonna get bumpy, unexpected and wild. But this is a life that YOU are creating and to have your hand on the compass is a powerful thing. Slow down and enjoy it and all that you have created, because as I sip my coffee on this snow day in January that’s all I can think. Slow down and enjoy ✨
