e? If your child has never skated before, register them in Learn to Skate. Our coach will move your child up as they complete the necessary skills for each level. If your child can stand on their own and move forwards, they can be registered in CanSkate. Our program runs mid-October through mid-March weather-pending. Our CanSkate classes will run Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-530. What does my child need? Your child will need skates (ask us about the skate swap program!), a CSA approved helmet, snowpants, gloves, and a warm sweater or jacket. Is skating still allowed during the COVID-19 pandemic? Yes, Skate Canada has given clubs permission to continue with skating classes under some restrictions. There is a subsidy that is available for low-income Alberta families or families who have been affected by the pandemic.
