Girl gang energy was HIGH this morning 💅☀️
AK Fitness X JEKT hosted the sweetest wellness walk and our hearts are so full! There’s just something special about women coming together to move their bodies, soak up the sunshine, chat, laugh, and start the morning on a positive note.
Creating a safe, welcoming space for women to connect, mingle, get their steps in, and simply feel GOOD is exactly what we’re all about. And seeing so many ladies show up, plus the kiddos, made this morning even more special.
This is only the beginning because we are SO excited to host more wellness walks and community events all summer long.

Food should never feel like punishment.
One thing about me? I LOVE food. Before Covid, my husband and I packed up our lives, quit our jobs, and travelled the world full-time. Some of my favourite memories came from experiencing different cultures through food. Fresh pasta in Italy, street food in Vietnam, pastries, local cafés… all of it. And honestly, that’s one of the biggest reasons I’ll never promote extreme dieting or cutting out entire food groups.
You do not need to fear carbs to reach your goals.
You do not need to “earn” your meals.
And you definitely do not need to survive off salads to see progress.
What you DO need is balance, consistency, and a better understanding of how to fuel your body.
Tracking calories and macros can be such a powerful tool because it teaches you awareness. It helps you understand how much protein your body needs, how carbs fuel your workouts and energy, and why healthy fats are important for hormones, recovery, and overall health.
Every person’s macros are different because every goal and lifestyle is different. Someone trying to build muscle, lose body fat, improve performance, or simply feel healthier will all require different amounts of protein, carbs, and fats.
And for the record… I eat bread every day and rice multiple times a day.
The problem usually isn’t the food itself. It’s the lack of awareness around portions, consistency, and overall habits.
Stop labeling foods as “good” or “bad.”
Learn balance.
Learn moderation.
Learn how to fuel your body with intention.
That’s where real, sustainable results happen.
