Assiniboia Brew Crew

Now that the hangover is gone, we have to extend a very big thank you to all of our amazing fans over the year, unfortunately we did not have the outcome we were looking for! This team is resilient and the boys will get some good bonding in over the winter to really seal up those gaps, it's an honour and a privilege to get to play the greatest game on earth with these boys!

Congrats to the Aces of Assiniboia on a great year, always a pleasure playing some good ball against a stand up group of guys!

Fortunately for our great fans the Crew is in Moose Jaw this weekend for Senior AA Tier 4 provincials! Starting tomorrow at 1pm the Crew is in action vs The Moose Jaw Padres, game is being played at Ross Wells Park, should be a beautiful weekend for baseball! I will post a picture of the provincial schedule below!

The Crew played in a doosey of a game last Thursday night, Lafleche came to town for game 2 in what turned out to be a real barn burner of a game, the team started off slow giving up 5 runs with a few blunders in the first inning! Never giving up and showing real poise and determination, the team rallied back all game where they found themselves tied in the bottom of the 7th with the score now 14-14, unable to seal the deal in the bottom of the 7th we headed to extras! Trading runs for a couple innings back and fourth before our lord and saviour Weston "run it down" Mergel slaps one up the middle to secure the win and the WWE player of the game belt!

The team is back in action tonight in the final Vs the Aces of Willows Dam, start time 6pm, come out and just douse yourself in bug spray

The Crew travelled to Lafleche last night for game one of the first round of playoffs, starting with the rock on the mound was none other than Ramsey "ramathorn" Thompson, he was carving threw the lineup, you think you can hit his high fastball, no you can't , going a solid 4 1/3 innings before handing the rock off to our player of the game Marshall "lazer beam" Ruzicka, doing his best Shohei Ohtani impression he went 4/4 as the DH and than came in to relieve Ramrod on the mound, and of course he was lights out for the last 2 2/3 innings to secure the win with a final score of 12-2

The Crew is back in action for game 2 tomorrow night in town where the boys look to close out the series, start time 6pm sharp

The Crew starts playoffs tonight in Lafleche vs the Merchants at 6 PM sharp! Bring your skeeter spray folks! Should be a beautiful night for a little pitch and catch

A little update on last weeks make up games, the team was in action for 3 games last week!

First game was in Lafleche where the Crew started behind and couldn't make the comeback! A big shout out to Mason "just do it" Vandesype, getting called up and making his dunning league debut, going 1-1 with a stolen base, keep an eye out, haven't seen him miss a fly ball to date!

Game 2 we travelled to Glentworth and couldn't seem to find the zone off the mound of glory, taking the second loss of the week, wipe it off!

Game 3 we bounced back when Coronach Nationals came to town, can Coronach and Lafleche switch names! Ramsey "ramrod" Thompson with the POG going 5 strong innings! With the win the Crew locked up 2nd place on the year finishing with a record of 10-5!

The team hosted hot dog night last Thursday when the Giants came to town for a beautiful night of baseball! With a resilient effort from all members of the team, we were able to top last year's hot dog total by pounding 62 hot dogs in 7 innings of play, a real team effort by all! We have to thank our sponsor of the game The Jolly Giant Pub and Motel for the generous donation of the hot dogs, buns, and even some beers to get the fellas by on a hot night! Oh we also won the game

We were also selling hot dogs by donation, we were able to shake up 2$ in donations, thank you to our wonderful fans 🙏

Next up we travel to Lafleche tonight at 6:30 to take on the Merchants, this is a make up game for a rainout earlier in the season, I believe the Crew is down 2-0 going into the 3rd inning!

Just like that it's Thursday and we find ourselves going into tonight's game with a record of 8 wins and 3 losses!

The crew travelled to Lafleche last Thursday to take on the Merchants, a tight game all the way to the last out, resilience is an understatement, with only 8 players the crew battled all night to take the win with a final score of 11-10! Putting the season record at 7-2

We have to extend a huge thank you to our very own Riley "the flamethrower" Malone, when he's not manning left field and throwing heat on the mound he is spending his time training to make the community a safer place, thank you to him and the whole Assiniboia Fire Department crew for hosting a great FireFit event, and for letting a few of our team members do a demo run for the event on Sunday!
