After last few weeks having 10 athletes compete In the U20 and then U14, U16 and U18 Provincial championships in Wimdsor and St Catherines, we achieved outstanding results including personal bests achieved in most categories and qualifying for the finals, our club then went on to compete in Masters age 35+ categories where we achieved Athletic Victories at our first-ever Canadian Outdoor Masters Track & Field Championships, now in the books, and what an unforgettable weekend it was!
Despite challenging and unpredictable hot and rainy weather, Athletic Victory Speed Club made an incredible first impression on the Ontario and national competitive Track Running stage.
Three athletes travelled to the Masters National championships in Laval Quebec this last week end, and we delivered exceptional performances:
National Medals: 🥈 One Silver Medal (200m)🥉 One Bronze Medal (100m) for Garry Bohle, then
🥇 Three Canadian National Gold Medals (200m, 400m and 800m) for athlete and Coach of Athletic Victory speed club founder Mirco Graenert.
Jacek Baldyga also rose to the occasion in his first National Championship ever, achieving high National rankings and two personal bests despite the difficult conditions, this all a testament to perseverance and preparation.
This was our club's first appearance at the Canadian Outdoor Ontario and National Championships, and we couldn't be prouder of what our athletes accomplished. The medals are exciting, but even more rewarding is seeing months of disciplined training, commitment, and teamwork produce results on Canada's biggest stage.
Congratulations to all of our athletes. This is only the beginning for Athletic Victory Speed. We were so very happy to also keep up with so many friends and athletes. Ontario Masters Championships are still to Come in a couple of weeks.

🇨🇦 HAPPY CANADA DAY! 🇨🇦
Aurora's Athletic Victory Speed Club is working hard to bring the 2026 Future Stars® Middle Distance Athletics Camp, directed by Canadian Olympic Silver Medalist and World Champion Marco Arop, to Aurora this September.
Our partnership with Future Stars® has been confirmed, and we are now working with the Town in hopes of hosting this exciting event here in Aurora, pending facility availability.
If successful, this would provide provincially competitive youth athletes (ages 14–17)* with a rare opportunity to learn directly from one of Canada's greatest middle-distance athletes while showcasing Aurora as a community that supports youth sport and athletic excellence.
The proposed camp is scheduled for September 19–20, 2026 and is designed specifically for competitive 800m and 1500m athletes.
Adding to the excitement, on June 28, Marco Arop ran a world-leading 800m time of 1:41.84 at the Paris Diamond League—another remarkable achievement by one of Canada's finest athletes.
Hosting this event in Aurora would be a tremendous opportunity for our young athletes, our club, local businesses, and the community as a whole.

RUN FOR SOUTHLAKE – JOIN US AND MAKE AN IMPACT, DONATE, CHEER OR RUN
Southlake Hospital serves our community when it matters most. Now it’s our turn to give back.
Athletic Victory Speed is stepping up to support the Run for Southlake Fundraiser, and we’re inviting you to be part of it.
While our club is built around sprint and middle-distance performance, we believe in something bigger than sport. We believe in community, in health, and in supporting the people and places that take care of us. Whether it’s a 5K fun run or a championship race, the purpose is the same—move forward and lift others with you.
Why this matters
Access to modern equipment and resources directly affects patient care. Funding gaps can lead to delays and limitations. Your support helps Southlake deliver faster, better care when it’s needed most.
How you can help
- Sponsor one of our athletes or our club
- Make a direct donation at the Run for Southlake or hospital website
- HIT THE SHARE BOTTON OF THIS POST - Share the initiative with others, especially if you or someone you know has been treated at Southlake.
