Please help us thank these two incredible horsewomen and this amazing horseman for giving up their weekends to freeze their butts off on a hard wooden bench in order to share their knowledge, experience and wisdom with us all this past weekend at BC Bridlehorse Heritage Association’s second annual Art of the Bridlehorse! 👏👏👏👏.

We were so blessed to have had such a fantastic Judges “Dream Team”. Thank you Stefanie Travers, Heather Kornemann and Marty Gardner!!!

What an incredible weekend!!! Thank you to ALL who came out to compete, support and learn. We are so grateful for the enthusiasm and the interest in preserving and celebrating these old Californio traditions. From the Pros and the Advanced riders who were so incredible at supporting and guiding the lower divisions to the Youth who carried our flags at the opening ceremonies, it is all of 🫵 YOU 🫵 who make up this welcoming and supportive community. 👏👏👏

Keep watching this page for results updates, more “thank yous” and of course PHOTOS!!!! Meanwhile, in case you want to know more about our AMAZING official show photographer, Coco Michelle Portrait, here is her info!

One of the best parts of the weekend for so many of us was watching these amazing kids at the opening ceremonies. Thank you to Izzy, Jack, Taylan for carrying our flags and to Jeff and Charles for supporting! 🇨🇦

🎥 Art of the Bridlehorse Video Series - Part 6. Developing a bridlehorse.

What does it really take to prepare a horse for the Art of the Bridlehorse? Next in our video series, we sit down with Christa Miremadi of Rock'n Star Ranch to talk about just that.

Christa shares how she approaches preparing for the Art of the Bridlehorse, the importance of working with the horse you have on that particular day, and recognizing where each horse is in its training 💪 physically and emotionally. It isn’t simply about preparing for a competition - it is about building on the foundation, listening to your horse and continuing the progression.

Christa’s perspective is a great reminder that the Art of the Bridlehorse isn’t about having everything finished perfectly. It is about good horsemanship, thoughtful preparation and showing the partnership and progression between horse and rider, supporting the horse and demonstrating respect for their level of development. Thank you, Christa, for sharing your experience and perspective with us!

And a special thank you 🙏 to Dr. Willow Holmes of Stride Equine Veterinary Services for taking the time to capture these conversations and help us share them. Take a few minutes to hear from Christa as we continue our countdown to the 2026 Art of the Bridlehorse in Barriere.
