In June, the Barrie Gun Club proudly hosted our Ladies’ Charity Shoot in support of Season’s Centre for Grieving Children. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our members, sponsors, volunteers, and community supporters, we are thrilled to announce that we raised an amazing $22,480 — setting a new fundraising record for this event!

Today, we had the honour of presenting the cheque to Season’s Centre, knowing that these funds will help provide essential support programs for children and families in our community who are coping with grief and loss.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, and supported this important cause. Your generosity and dedication continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local children and families.

Together, we are helping ensure that no child has to navigate grief alone. ❤️

The Barrie Gun Club Winter “Penguin” S***t League wrapped up on March 29th—and it was another great success.

The league consisted of six events, held on the last weekend of each month from October through March. Over the course of the season, 89 different shooters participated, with an impressive average of 59 shooters per event.

True to its “Penguin” name, the league was met with some harsh winter conditions. From frigid temperatures and strong winds to heavy snow and rain, the weather was often less than ideal. Despite this, participation remained strong throughout the season—something that speaks volumes about the dedication and enthusiasm of the shooting community.

Each event featured 100 targets, and by season’s end, a total of 34,500 targets had been thrown. Even in challenging conditions, shooters delivered outstanding performances, with many achieving personal bests each month.

Looking ahead, the addition of a new field next season will allow the Barrie Gun Club to welcome even more participants and continue to grow this popular event.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who took part in the league, as well as to the volunteers and organizers who helped ensure each event ran smoothly.

Well, we knew that the time would come soon, and sure enough, it came today!!
Congratulations Addison for shooting your first of many 100 straights.
We are all very proud of you, and you should also be very proud of the of this accomplishment. I may be mistaken, but to the best of my knowledge, you are the youngest junior in Ontario, and potentially Canada to shoot a 100 straight!!

Based on the weather forecast, I don’t want to put anyone at risk. As a result, the Sunday portion of this month’s Penguin Shoot is postponed until further notice.

Stay safe, and I’ll share an update once we have a new plan.
