🚨 HUGE NEWS FOR DISC GOLF IN SIMCOE COUNTY! THE HEIGHTS DISC GOLF COURSE IS OFFICIALLY OPENING TO THE PUBLIC 🚨
As of Thursday, May 14th, the new course at The Heights Ski & Country Club is officially OPEN for play! 🔥
This is a massive moment for our disc golf community — a brand new 18-hole course, built on one of the most beautiful properties in the region, is now ready for players.
Here’s what you need to know 👇
⛳ COURSE STATUS
While we’re still putting on the finishing touches:
✅ All 18 baskets are in the ground
✅ Full course is live on uDisc (with accurate distances + map)
✅ All tee locations are marked with flags
🚧 Turf tee-pad installation is still underway
🚧 Some deadfall cleanup remains
➡️ Please use the uDisc map for navigation for now, as wayfinding signage is not yet installed.
💥 FREE TO PLAY (FOR NOW!)
Although this will eventually be a private pay-to-play course, we’ve worked with The Heights to make it:
🆓 FREE TO PLAY from now until tournament weekend (May 23–24)
Why?
To get as many people out as possible
To gather valuable player feedback
To let everyone experience the course
To allow tournament players plenty of practice rounds
We also feel this is the right call while final course infrastructure is still being completed.
🥏 3 UNIQUE LAYOUTS
This course was built for everyone.
Choose your challenge:
🔴 Reds – Beginner / recreational
⚪ Whites – Intermediate
🔵 Blues – Advanced / Pro
One property. Three completely different experiences.
🥾 COURSE WALK / WHAT TO EXPECT
Because this course is built on a ski hill, yes—it’s a good walk.
That said, we worked hard to design it to be as approachable as possible by:
Using existing service roads wherever possible
Routing players up the flattest available slopes
Minimizing repeated climbs
We feel it’s very manageable for all players—but please bring water 💧, especially on warmer days.
🚻 WASHROOMS
Currently, there are no public washrooms on site outside of clubhouse hours.
🚽 The clubhouse washrooms are only available during pub hours (so they will be accessible during league nights).
For the tournament:
✅ A portable washroom will be on site
Long term:
🔍 We’re actively working on a permanent/season-long washroom solution.
🍻 LEAGUE STARTS NEXT WEEK
Our first league night will be:
📅 Wednesday, May 20th
⏰ 6:00 PM
Why Wednesday?
The pub on site is still operating on winter hours, currently open Wednesdays only from 5–9 PM, so we wanted everyone to be able to enjoy food, drinks, and post-round hangs.
🙏 Huge thank you to Josh Mace and the Midland Club for adjusting their league night for 2 weeks so players can support both leagues this month.
➡️ Starting in June, league moves to its regular schedule: Thursdays at 6:00 PM
(Separate league details post coming soon!)
🐞 COURSE CONDITIONS
A few wetter spots remain, and with that come some bugs.
Bring:
✔️ Bug spray
✔️ Good footwear
✔️ Water
✔️ A camera… because the views are ridiculous
(Thankfully mostly gnats—not mosquitoes 😅)
This is a huge step forward for disc golf in Simcoe County, and we really hope everyone gets out to support it.
Play it. Share it. Tell your friends. Give feedback.
Let’s show The Heights what our community is all about—and help make this course permanent. ❤️🥏
