It was a race I barely remember but I will never forget. As I was entering corner 3 I hit a bad gouge in the ice, I remember flying off and seeing my sled going away from me but I do not remember hitting the bales where I was knocked unconscious for a number of minutes burried in bales, apparently i bounced off the second row and bounced forward a few inches and didn’t move, as the medics got there and were scraping me off the ice onto a body board I started to come awake I was very confused and upset with what happened as we were off to a good day with the sleds, as the medics told me they are taking me in to hospital my biggest worry was if I will be back in time for the sportsman 600 final lol , I couldn’t walk as I was so dizzy and had injury’s but I wasn’t letting that stop my love of racing, I was taken to HSC and all the way I was in good spirits cracking jokes about how fast we can get back for my final race, the ambulance attendants were very helpful and helped take my race gear all off before getting into the hospital as they would have cut my gear off, as is they took my track pants off for the MRI and lost them 🤷♂️, I went through a whole bunch of tests and X-rays and was told I would be staying the night which i wasn’t to excited about but as I heard about my injuries I understood why they were keeping me, I was moved from emergency to another room Monday around 11:30am after a few more X-rays and exams I was able to go home at 5:40pm Monday afternoon. My room mates dad heard me laughing about the pants they gave me so he decided to make me some balloons for my wheel chair on the way out 🤣 this is definitely not the way I wanted to end my race weekend, it’s been many years since I was involved in a racing accident and this is the first I ever seen an ambulance, but after my accident I’m lucky to still be here as if I hit the bales a bit different I may not have been so fortunate , thank you to all the medical staff, multiple doctors and nurses at hsc as well as Stephan Carignan and Bub Bennett for coming to my assistance on the track and making sure I was in good hands. Thank you to all the people that have reached out and asked how I am doing and if I need anything you people are real awesome and caring!! Makes the road to recovery feel easier
The photo is with my room mates dad who made me glove balloons for a get well soon after he heard what happened to me and I got my sweet newly acquired scrubs on lol

Well this race weekend was one that was definitely not on my side, our Sunday testing day before the races did not go well as the champ sled exploded its primary clutch as I was coming out of corner 4 it made a lot of damage taking out the secondary clutch the crank and crank case and bearings and firing a piece of clutch at the guard tearing the aluminum right open. We were able to get it back together for Friday testing. On our sportsman 600 we were battling some issues as well that we had changed for the final but unfortunately I found myself in a tight spot and bumped another sled and rolled ending my race. On Sunday our first sportsman race the sled was a rocket again and took a first place I had good hopes for the sled for the day. On my first champ race heat on Sunday the sled was flying we were on the right track with it but unfortunately as I was entering turn 3 on the 3rd lap I hit a bad rut which high sided me and threw me off the sled. Sadly this ended our race weekend as I was off to the hospital, I will post an update. Thank you to my team Eric Wall my dad Kurtis Beger and everyone who helped out this weekend getting those sleds moving the way they did👌
Thank you to all my sponsors this year

Well another race season has come to an end. This was our first year running a pro champ 440. We had a lot of ups and downs with it between carburation, electrical and motor issues along with learning a new chassis we did a lot of testing through the season. We came into this race weekend with a new motor and hopes to make some forward progress. With every race we managed to get the sled moving faster and improve our lap times. We have a ways to go yet but this was a big step in the right direction. As a team we have learnt a lot and have a good path in site for this sled.
Our sportsman 600 was a rocket all weekend and had a clean sweep in the class. We spun on the line a few starts but got the lead in the first corner every race. In the final we had a really good holeshot and opened up a commanding lead all the way to the checkered flag. Coming out of the last corner and seeing the checkered flag first was my goal all weekend to become a 5x consecutive Sportsman 600 Canadian champ🏁🏆
I can’t thank my team enough (my Dad, Eric Wall, and Chris Haywood) for getting both of the sleds tuned and ready for each race and making any adjustments needed.
Thank you to Matt Szalai from Demon Racing for the help working through some of our issues throughout the season.
Also thanks to Megan Kwan at Auto Stripe Design for the champ wrap design she nailed it exactly how I wanted it, she has done my trailer and both sleds, if you need any decals, tint, or wrapping I highly recommend going to see her!
Thank you to Darryl Gershman and Judith Laberge - Photographie for getting awesome pictures of me out there on the track
And of course a huge thank you goes out to all my sponsors that keep us going year after year, your support is much appreciated.

Well our first race weekend of the season is behind us and my dream of running pro champ 440 is now in the books. We learnt a lot on our new champ chassis, getting it to handle and run properly was 2 of our biggest issues. Most of our attention went into the champ sled which held us back from the adjustments we needed on the sportsman 600. We were unable to make the final champ race this time but we are going to work hard to get that chassis into the big show. In our sportsman 600 class we ended up taking a 3rd in the final. This season opener we learned a lot, my Dad, Eric along with me getting 2 sleds out on the track. At times I was headed to the staging area alone while they were doing there best to get the other sled tuned up in the trailer. I can’t thank them enough for everything they did to try and keep both sleds out on the track. Last but not least, a huge thanks to all my sponsors. Your support is greatly appreciated. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings !

Well after many successful years of running sportsman 600 class and managing to hold consecutive 4x Canadian championship title we have decided it is now time to try and capture some hardware in a new class, this being pro-lite and pro-champ. We all know as a team this is going to be one hell of a challenge but we are ready for this new journey. As many of you know it has been a dream of mine to run pro champ since I started racing at the age of 16 and the day has finally come! I am so proud of our team on all of our accomplishments so far and hope to one day be on the podium with the top teams in ice oval racing🏁. If you or your business is interested in becoming a sponsor of Saluk Racing and being displayed on the trailer and sleds don’t hesitate to reach out. We can’t wait to see what the coming race season has in store.

Another race season has come to an end and what a great weekend it was for Team Saluk!
We started off our first heat on Saturday taking a second place battling with a few issues we made some changes to the sled and got it back on the top spot! For our next 6 heat races we took 1st place. In the final race we took another 1st place finish now winning 4 Sportsman 600 Canadian Championships in a row!
We were one race away from a clean sweep weekend but Me as well as the team are super happy with our results this weekend the sled was on fire! Huge thanks goes out to my team my Dad, Eric & Glenn for giving me the sled that they did to make the win possible, also thanks to everyone at CPTC for putting on such a great event and giving us a safe place to race! A huge thanks also goes out to all my sponsors for keeping us going year after year we couldn’t do it without the help from all of you!
