A frequent question I get asked is what type of fitness class do I teach❓

My typical answer lately is group interval training. Officially I am certified in Tabata, which is considered a high intensity interval training class. But I find nobody knows what Tabata is, and the term HIIT tends to scare people off 😬

So let’s dive into what this actually means :

First of all, and MOST importantly,
YOU 🫵 determine your level of intensity. There is no expectation to perform in a certain way. Everyone is on their own fitness journey, and everyone is at a different level.

Second, the goal is to enjoy yourself while challenging yourself to break a sweat 😅

Third, you do not ❌have to do the exercise I am providing you. If we are doing something that you cannot do, or just don’t want to do, then DON’T. I provide modifications and options of doing something different.

Here’s how a Monday class works:
We start with a quick 3-4 minute warm-up, then proceed to the interval training which consists of performing an exercise for 20 seconds breaking for 10 seconds then doing another exercise for 20 seconds. We do a total of eight different exercises in a row, and then repeat those same exercises 6 times.
Once the interval training is complete, we do a 15 minute stretching cool down.

The Thursday class is a little different: again we start with a warm-up of about five minutes (slightly longer).
We then proceed to the interval training Which is still 20 seconds of exercise with a 10 second break. But here’s the difference :
You will perform the SAME 2 exercises rotating back and forth between them for 8 rounds of 20 seconds each. Once this round is complete you do not repeat these exercises again, but move on to different ones.
Then we move onto 2 different exercises that you rotate for 8 rounds , and so on and so on… the total amount of different exercises, you will perform is 16. We then do a shorter 4 to 5 minute cool down.

So there it is folks ❣️I hope this makes sense but the best way to know how it works is to join us at class ‼️
