🌿 What Kids Today Really Need (And Why It Matters More Than Ever)

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how different childhood looks today compared to when many of us were growing up.

Remember spending whole days outside?
Figuring things out on your own?
Getting a little scraped up… and being totally fine?

We didn’t always have someone stepping in to fix things.
We had to try… fail… adjust… and try again.

And somehow, that’s how we built confidence.

Today, kids are just as amazing—but their world is different.

They often have fewer chances to:
✔ take safe risks
✔ solve problems on their own
✔ push through something that feels hard

And those moments? They matter more than we think.

At camp, I see it every single week.

A child starts off unsure… maybe even a little scared.
They look for reassurance.

But then they try.

They climb a little higher.
They keep going.
They realize: “I can do this.”

And by the end of the day?

They’re standing taller, smiling bigger, and believing in themselves in a whole new way.

Confidence doesn’t come from being told “you’ve got this.”

It comes from:
✨ trying
✨ struggling
✨ figuring it out
✨ and doing it anyway

That’s why we believe so strongly in giving kids real experiences.

Not just activities…
But opportunities to grow.
