Last Man Standing (or Last Bowler Standing) Lawn Bowling Game
1. Divide the number of bowlers playing into the number of rinks you want to use. It doesn’t matter if the number of players on each rink is exactly the same, but 4 or 5 people is good.
2. Make enough tags for each rink. Each bowler will draw a tag and will begin play, against other bowlers with the same tag #, using 4 bowls on that rink.
3. There is no lead, vice or skip because they will be playing as a single, against other bowlers on that rink. There is no score keeping.
4. One person rolls the jack. If the jack goes out of bounds or is short of the hog line, the person who rolled the jack takes one of their bowls permanently out of play. Another person will roll the jack. Whoever rolls the jack, rolls their bowl first. The jack is not centered. It is played wherever it lands.
5. Everyone on the rink takes turns rolling their bowls until all bowls have been thrown.
6. When the end is completed, all bowlers go to the other end of the rink.
7. The person who has the bowl furthest from the jack must remove that bowl permanently from the game.
8. Every bowl which rests out of bounds must be removed permanently from the game.
9. The person whose bowl is closest to the jack, will roll the jack and rolls their bowl first in the next end. Continue steps 4 to 9 until only one bowler on that rink still has bowl(s) remaining. (Note: As soon as a bowler has no bowls left, they are out of the game)
10. When all rinks have only one bowler remaining, these bowlers will now progress to the next round & compete against each other, beginning with 4 bowls each.
11. When all rounds are completed, the last bowler to have a remaining bowl is “The Last Man Standing”.
