Why I love Yin Yoga ✨
Yin yoga isn’t just a style of yoga for me. It’s a philosophy, a nervous system practice, and a remembering of how to be instead of always doing.
Rooted in Taoism, yin yoga teaches us about balance:
☯️ yin & yang
☯️ effort & ease
☯️ movement & stillness
In a world that celebrates pushing, striving, and achieving, yin invites us to soften, slow down, and listen.
✨ Energetically, yin works with the meridian system, the same pathways used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Long, passive holds gently stimulate the connective tissue and help energy (Qi) move more freely through the body, supporting our organs, emotional health, and overall vitality.
✨ Physically, yin targets the fascia, ligaments, joints, and deep connective tissues rather than the muscles. This helps improve joint health, hydration, circulation, and long-term mobility, especially as we age or live very active lives.
✨ Mentally & emotionally, yin is where mindfulness becomes embodied. Influenced by Buddhist meditation, mindfulness practices, and somatic awareness, we learn to sit with sensation, notice our reactions, and cultivate compassion, on and off the mat.
What makes yin so special is the blend:
• Taoist wisdom
• Eastern medicine & meridian theory
• Modern fascia science
• Meditation & nervous system regulation
Yin reminds us that rest is not weakness.
Stillness is not laziness.

✨ Natarajasana (Dancer Pose) ✨
Last week in class we explored this heart opening pose, and everyone’s version was perfect.
Each expression unique, each one a reflection of balance, focus, and openness.
In Natarajasana, we embody the dance of Shiva, the cycle of creation, transformation, and renewal.
To balance, we root deeply and reach fearlessly.
In the dance of life, may we stay open, aware, and steady.

on Sunday November 9, 1-3 pm for a free Reiki Share!
This is a space for anyone with a minimum of Level I Reiki training to gather, trade stories from working with Reiki, ask questions, share tips and share/receive Reiki healing with each other.
Anyone who has studied with any Reiki Teacher is welcome to join! If your training was with a Reiki Master other than Jen or Lexi, you may be asked to provide your Reiki Certificate.
Space is limited to keep the space cozy and intimate.
