BTMHA is looking for coaches, team managers, and junior coaches to join our teams for the upcoming 2026–27 hockey season!

Whether you’re an experienced coach, a former player, a parent looking to get involved, or simply someone who wants to give back to our hockey community!

We’re looking for people who are:
- Positive & encouraging
- Reliable & committed
- Ready to help our players learn, grow & have fun
- Willing to be part of a great hockey family
- Ready to learn and help our kids succeed!

🚨🏒 IMPORTANT INFORMATION — 2026-27 BTMHA MINOR HOCKEY SEASON 🏒🚨

Registration for the 2026-27 minor hockey season is just around the corner, and we want to make sure all parents/guardians are aware of a NEW mandatory requirement from HNL/ Hockey Canada.

Shift Forward Parent/Guardian Program

-One parent/guardian per registered player must complete the Parent/Guardian Program.
-The cost is $10.
-Your child will NOT be able to register for the regular season until this program has been completed.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: The Parent/Guardian Program is different from the Shift Forward Coach/Volunteer course.

Even if you have already completed Shift Forward as a coach, volunteer, trainer, manager or official, you will still need to complete the separate Parent/Guardian Program for your child.

Anyone planning to help out during the 2026-27 season is asked to contact Lori Keel or Nicole Abbott regarding the required volunteer requirements.

We strongly encourage parents/guardians to complete the program ahead of registration. Getting it done early will help make registration smoother and prevent unnecessary delays.

* Registration dates for the 2026-27 season will be announced at a later date.

The Bonavista-Trinity Minor Hockey Association extends our deepest condolences to the Grand Falls-Windsor & Bishop Falls Minor Hockey Associations, the Dawe family, Alex's teammates, friends, coaches, first responders, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss.
The hockey community is one family, and we stand together in support as we mourn the loss of one of our own.
We encourage our members to join the tribute by placing a hockey stick outside your door in Alex's memory. A simple gesture can show a grieving family and community that they are not alone.
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone whose lives were touched by Alex. 🏒🖤

Night #2 was a celebration and reflection of our U11-U18 Cabots. We recognized players who showed leadership, growth, dedication, and those who embodied the qualities of our memorial awards. We also celebrated our amazing volunteers and took time to reflect on the years our graduating players spent as Cabots.
To our graduating players, thank you for the memories, commitment, and pride you brought while wearing the Cabots jersey. We wish you nothing but success in your next chapter.

Thank you to the staff at Garrick Theatre for accommodating our association once again this season, and thank you to all our families, coaches, volunteers, and supporters for another great year of Cabots hockey.

Night #1 was an evening of celebrating our youngest Cabots — our U7-U9 divisions.
Our littlest Cabots enjoyed watching a slideshow filled with memories from their awesome hockey season, and each player took home a trophy to recognize their hard work and growth throughout the year. The night ended with lots of fun in the school gym playing with teammates and everyone headed home with a tasty treat!

Enjoy the off-season, Cabots! We can’t wait to see you all again in the fall! 🏒

We had two amazing evenings celebrating our Cabots and all that was accomplished this season.

Congratulations to all players who received recognition during our awards ceremonies. Your hard work, dedication, sportsmanship, and love for the game truly shone throughout the year.

A sincere thank you to our special guests who attended, and to the families who continue to allow BTMHA to honour the memories of their loved ones through our memorial awards. Their legacy remains an important part of our association and hockey community.

To all of our volunteers — coaches, managers, timekeepers, announcers, board members, parents, and supporters — thank you for giving your time so generously to help make BTMHA the best it can be. Our association would not run without each and every one of you.
