Help Support Fair Tax Treatment for Canadian Golf Courses

We're asking for your support to help correct a long-standing tax inequity affecting golf courses in Canada.

Right now, the Income Tax Act allows a Canadian business to take a client to dinner, a hockey game, a concert, skiing or tennis and deduct 50% of the eligible business entertainment expense. If that same business takes a client golfing, the green fees and power cart fees are specifically excluded.

This tax benefit is for Canadian businesses, not golf courses. It's really about fairness and making sure legitimate golf related business entertainment expenses are treated the same as other eligible activities.

A House of Commons e-petition has been launched so that green fees and power cart fees used by Canadian businesses for entertainment can qualify for the same 50% deduction as other eligible activities.

If you are a resident of Canada, please add your name to the petition. Every signature helps show support for this change, and we'd be grateful if you shared it with your friends, family, coworkers and fellow golfers too.

Sign the e-petition here: https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-7746

Thank you so much for your support throughout the season. We've loved seeing all of you out on the course this year. Get out and enjoy these last few beautiful fall days, and we can't wait to see you all again next spring!
