One last time. 👊

Another strong showing in the championship.

Prep for this race started long before the plane ride. I trained everyday with and to ensure I knew any and all possible outcomes during a race. In all three races and I were able to break away from the rest, each picking up a win on Sunday. On Saturday, we accomplished yet another podium lockout! The last race on Sunday was definitely the most challenging, as I started in the second row due to not putting in a fast lap in the previous race. I was able to take lead by the end of lap 1 and extend it to over 4 seconds by the end of the race.

Race 3 was made even more significant with the presentation of the Al Craighead memorial trophy. This award meant a lot to the BGR family and I was so honoured to bring it back to its rightful home.

As always, this could not be done without my sponsors: . I’d like to extend an additional thank you to , for the extensive time spent on the sim and in the fitness center.

Thank you to Gaffer 2 () and .pelletier14 for keeping Bernard quick all weekend. It’s always a fun time under the tent!!!

RACE WEEK!!

My first street race is finally upon us. I have been training hard and I am very confident in my ability to achieve some good results!

Finally. I got to feel the emotions of being on the top step once again.

I entered the Toyo tires series not knowing what to expect. My pole start in round 1 and podium finish suggested it would not be long before my first win, so that became my goal.

In Shannonville, I could have easily achieved my goal but I was defeated by pressure, selfishness, and ultimately, myself.

During the VARAC weekend I displayed an exceptional level of confidence and charge in all my sessions. Luck was not on my side and it cast a shadow over what could have been a better weekend.

I had a conversation with my mechanic Daniel after the race and he told me that “success is when preparation meets opportunity”. I sat with this for a while until I realized what I had to do - work hard to make sure I was on point to capitalize on every ounce of every gain that was in my grasp. This looked like strength training with my trainer , and putting in lots of hours in the sim . I could feel good things ahead.

I arrived with a very confident, yet harsh mindset. Top 5, a podium, or even p2 would not satisfy me. I HAD to win.

In race 2 I was faced with a late safety car with 6 minutes left. I happened to be in the lead so I prayed for it to end there. However, race control decided to give us one green lap of racing.

I would need a stellar jump to ensure I was not caught out but the draft like I had been in previous races. From the moment they waved the green all the way to the checkered, I drove one of the best laps of my life.

The feeling of winning is truly unbeatable. It is what makes all the hard work, failing, mistakes, and resisting temptation worth it. Did it take longer than it should have? Yes. Will I make the same mistakes? No. As my Dad told me, this is a dam that has been opened for good. I am ready to put nothing but my best foot forward in the coming half of the season.

Thank you all ❤️

The last two weekends of the championship have been a rollercoaster of emotions and thought. Highs that transform into unpredictable lows, and stellar performances that feel like they should have resulted better. The important part is that I am having tons of fun and processing new skills, habits, and suggestions. Thank you to for having my back and coaching me through these weekends. I love our team atmosphere and I am so grateful for all that you guys do. Onward and upward from here 👊🔥

Toyo Tyres Championship Rnd 1

It was an up and down weekend packed with lots of learning. I qualified p7 for race 1 and drove back to finish 4th. My lap time put me on pole for the second race which ended early as I was caught out by the nasty weather. Race 3 was a hard fought battle as I started 9th after getting one lap in race 2 to make count. I drove my heart out to a p3 finish.

Thank you to the family for all your support this weekend. I am looking forward to the coming races and . I am fired up and ready to go even faster.

Thank you to all those who make it all happen:

I would not be here without your love and support.

Lastly, thank you to for these STUNNING photos!!!

ROK FWT Round 3

This weekend started off a little rusty as it had been 7 months since I was last in a go kart. I spent the first couple of sessions eliminating some old habits and shaking the dust off.

My quali didn’t go great but I was able to make up positions through the heats and prefinal.

In the final, I was shuffled back some before finding some pace and recovering back to find myself in a fight for the top 5. I eventually finished p6 which was a decent result in my eyes, all things considered.

Results:

Quali: 15
Heat 1: 11
Heat 2: 14
Heat 3: 13
Prefinal: 6
Final: 6

It was great to be reunited with familiar faces like and . Thanks for the fun times!

As always, thank you to for turning wrenches and helping me bounce back from the off season, for keeping me in tip top shape and prepared for this event, and for an amazing platform and weekend!

Thank you to my sponsors:

For making my season possible.

SKUSA next week. Will work hard and keep you updated with the weekend. Cheers!

P1 IM MY FIRST CAR RACE!!!!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to race the Rush SR for the first time with . It was on short notice but they made sure all my equipment was top notch. The races took place at the Podium Club in AZ as part of the Pro Autosports Track Days season opener.

Limited practice on Friday meant that I would need to push myself past my comfort zone to see what the car could do. By the end of the day, I was feeling confident about my pace and the handling characteristics of the car.

I topped practice on Saturday morning and fell just a tenth short of pole in quali. A well calculated manoeuvre in the prefinal allowed me to take the lead. Unfortunately, the pressure got to me and I made a small error which cost me a little time but just enough to lose my position. I had to settle for second. In the Final, my pace coupled with well executed overtakes allowed me to take the lead and maintain it all the way to the checkered flag. A great end to my first car race!!

Sunday did not start great. We were plagued with brake issues causing them to lock in practice. I only got three laps which was not ideal as we would be running clockwise instead of counterclockwise like we did the two days before. Practice time was crucial. We barely made it out in time for quali but the stress of fixing the issue meant that I had forgotten to put my transponder on the car! My pace would have been good enough for p4 but that still wouldn’t have satisfied me. We only had one race today so I knew I had to make it count. I climbed up to p3 by lap 2 and was chasing down the leaders. I was super focused and pushing the limit of what the car could do. I set the fastest lap early on and was in hot pursuit of the two in front. Two great overtakes forced them to battle it out which let me drive away. I got the win but most importantly I had learned so much from the weekend.

Thank you to for making the weekend as seamless as possible. Thanks for wrenching on my car and assisting with any questions I had. Thanks to and for making sure I was able to seize this opportunity while being well prepared.
