Did you know the Miyazato School made history in sustainability?
Back in 2018, the Miyazato School stood out by becoming the first institution of its kind in the world to obtain a GRI certification.
What does it mean? GRI stands for Global Reporting Initiative, an international organization that sets standards for measuring and communicating sustainability impact. It guides institutions, companies, or schools to report transparently on how they affect the environment, society, and the economy.
In simple terms: The School doesn’t just aim to train karate practitioners.
It also seeks to create a positive impact on society and the environment.
Karate Do Miyazato - Alcobendas Dojo
Dojo de la Escuela Miyazato de Karate Do. Karate Do Shorin Ryū Shidokan.
A new chapter begins for our Miyazato School.
Sensei Masatoshi Miyazato’s journey to Okinawa is not only a return to the roots — it is a firm step toward the future. The opening of a new dojo in the land where Karate-Do was born represents much more than an achievement: it is the building of a bridge between Argentina and Japan.
A path that brings together tradition, history, and values… with the commitment to continue transmitting Karate-Do with the same essence as always.
🥋 A legacy that continues to grow

The hardest belt is the white belt, it is not because of the techniques. It means difficult is starting.
For many adults, beginning something new can feel uncomfortable. It means stepping out of your routine,
trying something you’ve never done before,
and allowing yourself to be a beginner again.
Some hesitate because they feel out of shape.
Others because they think they are too late to start.
Many simply feel unsure.
At Miyazato Karate Do School, we understand that.
🌸 There is no pressure to perform.
🌸 No competition.
🌸 Just a space to begin, move and build something step by step.
Everyone starts somewhere.
If you’ve been thinking about it, this might be the right moment to begin.

🌸 Why many families choose traditional karate
In many sports programs, children are pushed into competition and performance.
Miyazato Karate Do follows a different path.
Instead of focusing on winning or losing, training focuses on building a strong foundation for life.
Children learn to move their bodies, develop coordination, improve focus and grow in confidence step by step.
At Miyazato Karate Do School, we are not trying to create champions at a young age. Our goal is to help children develop habits and values that will support them throughout their lives.
Karate becomes a practice they can continue as teenagers and adults.
For many families, this slower and more balanced approach offers something different in a schedule that is often filled with activities.
Students train in a respectful and supportive environment where progress happens gradually and naturally.
Classes take place at Muskoka Lumber Community Centre.
Registration is available through Bracebridge Recreation.

A Living Tradition
Miyazato Karate Do School follows the teachings of Sensei Shoei Miyazato, an Okinawan master who dedicated his life to spreading and establishing the foundations of traditional Karate Do.
After moving from Okinawa to Argentina, he founded a school that shared the spirit and values of karate with new generations of students.
Today the school continues under the direction of Sensei Masatoshi Miyazato, who leads an international community of practitioners and guides the ongoing development of the school.
At Miyazato Karate Do School, the ultimate goal is not competition or individual recognition. Our practice encourages students to grow as responsible individuals who contribute positively to their communities and to the world. Through discipline, respect and continuous practice, karate becomes a path for personal growth and good citizenship.
Our dojo in Bracebridge is proud to be part of this tradition.
Classes take place at Muskoka Lumber Community Centre.
Registration for the Spring session is now open through Bracebridge Recreation.
