This is summer - in all of its glory. Some days wet. Some days dry. We will likely not have to water much this summer - sounds like Mother Nature will take care of that - again!! But it is what it is - so let's all promise to ignore the weather and enjoy our time in Muskoka. There are some great outer-wear products that let you enjoy the outside even in marginal weather. Golf is playable in the rain - just ask the Scots!!

“Good Morning Muskoka - Don MacKay with your Moose Outdoor Recreation Report for Monday October 14th live from Muskoka Highlands Golf Links – where I have the pleasure of walking to work every morning still in my shorts– and I get to see the clear blue sky and feel the chill that is setting in - no frost but definitely cool. Which is fine – because the coffee is hot and the day is going to be beautiful and warm and perfect for a round of golf!!
This is the wrap up day for many – many of you will be heading out for your final trip south as the cottage is now winterized, the water is shut down and the winter curtains in place. May I suggest a quick 9 holes before heading into what will be a traffic caterpillar?
But for many of us, this is the beginning of a great Fall season. We have the Cranberry Festival in Bala coming up next weekend – with a fantastic Duck Race run by the Bracebridge Muskoka Lakes Rotary Club – we have your lucky duck tickets here at Muskoka Highlands. And next Saturday is our Ron Babcock Memorial 2 Man Scramble – a tradition of tough mudder golfers – ok Scoot – if it is raining I know you are not coming. Just sayin there is lots going on in Muskoka in the next week – and who plans any further??
