Great News!! All MPC Members and All Muskoka residents. After our devastating loss in December 2024 from Snowmaggeden snow load we are now ready to rebuild. Our Canadian purchase of a new roof from Canadian Metal Buildings arrived today. It is expected that the new roof will be installed over our fenced compound in the coming weeks. We will never have another occurrence like this again. Send in your membership forms now so you are ready for another great paddling season. Go to www.muskokapaddle.club and click on registrations. How exciting!!!

MPC Commodore Rick on his North Sea K2 Surfski adventure. Daughter Mallory and I left the Jumpteam Surf, Kitesurf and Surfski club in Scheveningen The Hague, Netherlands. I was dressed in a friends DrySuit and Mallory was in her wetsuit to survive the cold ocean water. It was calm launching off the massive beach, sheltered by the Pier. Then we paddled out past the Pier and the strong South wind and waves hit us. I have to admit I was a little on the scared side as waves flooded the cockpit but disappeared quickly out the self draining cockpit. I had thoughts that the strong current would send us all the way to Norway !

We spent the day loading up boats for the winter. Last winter the heavy snow load destroyed all our roofed racks. We are waiting to hear from a local company that may have warehouse storage for our big trailer. Or we may be looking for free or very inexpensive space for the clubs two trailers.

First K4 paddle for Commodore Rick. In 4th position with the Tilly Hat. I officiated dozens of K4 races back between 2000 and 2006. Never had the opportunity to actually try it. Boy was I scared. I don't think I took a breath for 10 minutes. My heart was pounding like crazy but I never flipped it. Can hardly wait to try again. Many thanks to Burloak Canoe Club for donating the surplus boat to us.
