Rebels United Triumph in the Heat as Bowling Attack Dismantles Gujarat Super Kings-June 22, 2025

On a scorching day at Turner Fenton, Rebels United overcame early setbacks and harsh playing conditions to register a commanding 81-run victory over Gujarat Super Kings in a thrilling 50-over contest.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Rebels United got off to a brisk start with AB (17) and Adeel (10) looking sharp early on. However, a dramatic middle-order collapse saw the side slump to 32 for 5, as Gujarat’s bowlers capitalized on the early momentum.

Just when the innings appeared to be unraveling, Waqar (49) and Moin (59) staged a remarkable recovery. The pair added 93 runs in just 94 balls, balancing aggression with composure. Waqar struck 5 boundaries and 3 sixes in his counter-attacking knock, while Moin played the anchor with 7 fours and a six of his own. Their partnership shifted the momentum and laid the platform for a late-innings push.

Cameos from Waleed (12) and Manpreet (19) added crucial lower-order runs, helping Rebels reach a competitive total of 197—all the more impressive given the intense heat and earlier collapse.

In the field, Adeel had a standout performance behind the stumps with 4 sharp catches, while the bowlers turned up the heat—literally and figuratively. Manpreet and Kashif led the attack with three wickets apiece, keeping the Gujarat batsmen under constant pressure. AB and Ahmed chipped in with two wickets each as Gujarat Super Kings were bundled out for just 116.

Despite a few brief moments of resistance, Gujarat never found momentum in the chase. Rebels’ discipline with the ball and energy in the field proved too much on a day where fitness and focus were tested by the blazing weather. ā˜€ļø

Rebels United stormed into the finals of the BEDCL T20 Evening league, thanks to a tenacious 39 run win over table toppers Brampton Knights.
Electing to bat first, RUCC got off to a fine start thanks to handy contributions in the powerplay from Baidar (16) and Shahraiz (16). Bandesha (13) got off to a quickfire start before perishing. Rohit (41), however, kept the innings together, smashing 2 sixes and 2 fours combined with his customary quick running between the wickets. As Rebels United looked good to finish close to 150, an almighty collapse meant they struggled their way to an underpar 129/8 off their 20 overs. Kashif (14) helped resurrect the team in the death overs.
Knights were rocked early on thanks to Saadi (3 wkt) and his brilliance with the new ball. Shahraiz (3 wkts) continued his brilliant form with the ball as Captain Bandesha made smart changes and never let Knights recover. The lower order never threatened to take the game away from Rebels as Kashif, Bandesha and Moin picked up a wicket each to take Rebels one step closer to the coveted silverware.

Rebels United secured a third place finish in Division B, with a convincing 5 wicket win over Toronto Super Kings.
Electing to bat first, Super Kings got off to a bright start thanks to some lacklustre bowling in the powerplay. Moin, fresh off his 5 wkt haul in the previous game, once again made the breakthrough as he got the dangerous Aditya for 26. He finished with 3/19 off his 8 overs. Kashif (1 wkt) continued his good form with the ball. Baidar (1 wkt) got the semi old ball to jag around before Saadi (2 wkts) and Amir (1 wkt) polished off the tail. The fielding effort was electric, led by Adeel Qasim snaffling 4 catches behind the stumps while Saadi and Shahraiz effected a run out each. A complete effort in the field meant RUCC needed 131 to secure a podium finish.
RUCC lost Bandesha early before Baidar (55) and Shahraiz (28) steadied the ship. The two played with maturity and patience, punishing the loose deliveries. Fahad (11*) and Kashif (3*) completed the chase with 8 overs to spare.

Rebels United secured a convincing 5-wicket win against Phoenix! Phoenix was bowled out for 125 runs, thanks to Rebels United’s brilliant bowling performance. Moin stole the show with an excellent spell, taking 5 wickets with remarkable accuracy and swing. Captain Waqar chipped in with 2 wickets, showcasing his precision, while Shahraiz continued his top form with 3 wickets.

Rebels United fielding unit was on point, led by Adeel Qasim’s two incredible catches. AB, Waleed, and Happy Cheema each snagged a catch, contributing to the team’s success.

After losing a quick wicket, Rebels United’s batting lineup bounced back strong. AB (33) and Shahraiz (42) forged a crucial 62-run partnership for the 2nd wicket. Shahraiz continued to shine, adding 31 runs with Ahmad Saadi (14). Khurram (13*) took charge and finished the game with Fahad Ali (11*), wrapping up the match with 12 overs to spare.

Rebels snatched a sensational come back 8 run win to topple Brampton Knights and secure a playoff spot in the BEDCL night T20 format.

Rohit Arora is absolutely on fire! His incredible innings of 45 runs, featuring two massive sixes, earned him the well-deserved Man of the Match title. The way he and Ahmad Saadi worked together was pure magic - their swift singles and doubles left the opposition scrambling.

What made their partnership truly special was their exceptional running between wickets. The opposition must have been frustrated watching Rohit and Ahmad expertly rotate the strike.

Brampton Knights started their innings aggressively and stayed ahead of the required run rate. With only 24 runs needed off 32 balls and 7 wickets in hand, it seemed like an easy win for the Knights.

But then came the shocker! Rohit Arora broke the 3rd wicket partnership with an incredible catch by Manpreet Singh, changing the game’s momentum.

Captain Ali Bandesha took charge, setting an aggressive field and bringing back Shahraiz Atif into the attack. Shahraiz’s left-arm spin completely baffled the opposition, leading to 4 quick wickets. Rebels sensed victory and tightened the screws. With 16 needed off 12 balls, Kashif Nadeem bowled with pinpoint accuracy, conceding only 2 runs in the penultimate over. Harsimrat Cheema as usual was brilliant behind the stumps. In the final over, Ahmad Saadi defended the score and clean-bowled the last batsman, securing a stunning win.
