I was just talking about this with a friend of mine. The only time “motivation” becomes a factor is when I’m already working out and I give myself a motivational pep talk between sets and tell myself that I’m going to “crush this” next set. As far as getting myself to the gym or getting myself to work out. Consistency and discipline is key. Motivation is fleeting. Consistency and discipline is what is going to get you to your goals and what is going to get you to workout when you don’t feel like it.

A little battle damage never hurt anyone. Last night I took part in a my new favourite tradition at Hamilton Jeet Kune Do. The “Birthday Gauntlet”! You have a sparring round with anyone in attendance that is willing to go. 10 total rounds on this night and a definite test of cardio and a ton of fun.

Just a joke peeps! Don’t always have to be so serious about your training. Crack a joke, have a laugh. Sweat hard and fight hard, but if you take everything so serious, then everything will easily upset you. Control your emotions, or others will use your emotions to control you.

As a certified instructor of the JFFAA, I am so proud to be a part of this lineage and have a very traceable route back to the source of Jeet Kune Do.

When someone insinuates that I am a “part time” Jeet Kune Do instructor. 😆
Work never stops!
