Huge Shout Out to the Saskatchewan Junior Handlers!

We are very appreciative of Shannon and the Saskatchewan Junior Handlers, for providing us with a hot lunch on both Saturday and Sunday of our June 26-28, 2026 barn hunt event. The original plan was to BBQ, but the weather 🌧 changed those plans. None the less, we had a lovely hot lunch each day, which was so very nice in the wet weather.

They also sold various flavors of locally-made lip balm. 💋 They are perfect for those sunburnt, windburnt lips of summer.

The Saskatchewan Junior handlers also sold tickets on a few raffle baskets. Congratulations to the winners of the raffle baskets.

They are a fantastic group to work with and we were happy to support them in their fund-raising efforts. I hope you will consider having them attend your next dog sport event.

Wow! We co-hosted a barn hunt event, on June 26-28, 2026, at 4 Limb Gym in Regina. Thank you May Fischer for all you do to make these events happen. I can tell you first-hand, that May's list of jobs is very long. 😊 ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

You cannot host dog sports without a judge. For our June event, Cynthia Sandison, from St. Catharines, Ontario was able to fly to Regina, so we can all play a sport we love, with our dogs. Thank you Cindy for your lovely courses and fair hides. I believe the humidity was presenting some scenting puzzles for the dogs, but most were able to figure things out and locate the rat tubes. It is always a pleasure to have Cindy judge our events. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

We had a wet and windy weekend in Regina. Friday saw high winds, Saturday brought 57.5 mm of rain 🌧 and Sunday brought 19.8 more mm of rain. 💦 Barn hunt competitors are hardy souls and we made it through the weekend without any major hiccups. When you put your trial applications in, many months to a year or more, in advance of the event, you just never know what the weather will be like. You all put on your " big girl panties and boxers" and survived the event. What an amazing community we have in this sport of barn hunt. Thank you all for being you. We love you and appreciate each and everyone of you. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Congratulations to everyone who joined us, you all went home with the best dog in the world. We celebrate your success with you and recognize that some of us have "training challenges". Regardless, we hope you had as much fun attending this event, as we did bringing this event to you. 😊

Our next event is October 23-25, 2026. This will be our Halloween 🎃 trial. We open for entries on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 7 PM Manitoba time. We hope you will mark you calendar, and plan on entering this event.

Till next time,
Ramona & Darrell

Dawn always has a lovely selection of prizes that the winners get to choose from, (usually barn hunt-themed merchandise) for their special award. Thank you so very much Dawn for your creativity and generosity! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

At the end of the day on Sunday, we also did our daily draws. The winners are as follows:

Thank you to each and every volunteer. These trials cannot occur without all of you. There is no such thing as a "small job" in barn hunt. They are all very important and necessary for trials to run smoothly and efficiently. We wish we had prizes for each of you, because all of you have certainly earned our respect and admiration. ♥️♥️♥️♥️. I wish safe travels to all, traveling near and far.

I hope to see you all at our October 23-25, 2026 event.
