Today I got to present and dance for seniors at a local nursing home and let’s just say MY HEART IS SO FULL! ❤️🫶🏽❤️

Race: Crawford Lake GRIT course

I absolutely LOVE 🥰🌳🏃🏽‍♀️

I’m pretty sure this was my tenth year doing the half and it is my all-time favourite half marathon course and event. Beautiful, flat, scenic, friendly crowds, fantastic volunteers … this is a massive multi-distance event put on by Race Director Shauna and team and the vibe is always impeccable. Lots of smiling faces every year and this year was no exception. I love how the city of London fully embraces this race and the incredible organization each year has made it the success it is! 🙌🏽

Congrats to my oldest daughter .leighann who crushed a 5K PR this morning! Proud mama… ❤️

We’ll be back to the party next year FCRR! 😍

✅ got a trail name from my trail sisters “Lune Turquoise” 🌕 🩵
✅ completely crushed my first 50 miler in a monsoon 🌧️ 💦 🌧️
✅ kicked off powwow season 🪶

Always a lovely tradition for me to come visit ‘s class at Annandale School. We have both attended Annandale as students and then taught there as teachers and seen it through the transition from a high school, to a junior high, to a present day elementary school. What a treat “coming home” every spring. Thank you Tonya and class for having me!

The BEST part of today, seeing an Indigenous student I met a year ago who, since my last visit, assembled regalia, made his own gustoweh and learned how to smoke dance having been inspired. Today he stood in front of this year’s Grade 7s, introducing himself in Tuscarora, and explaining his gustoweh and how he learned to smoke dance.

SO PROUD!

THAT is the power of Indigenous representation! 🪶 🫶🏽

As an aside, jingle dancing is HARD WORK! I tell classes that I am much more sore the day after jingling than the day after a marathon- NO JOKE! Killer calf workout to dance on your toes for hours! 🥰🫶🏽
