Rider Profile: Shawn Rosario
Our next rider profile is on Shawn! Shawn joins us from the Cambridge area.
When Shawn isn't riding bicycles, he can be found racing motor cycles in the Southwestern Ontario Association of Racing. Those bike handling skills really pay off on and off the track.
Shawn has been enjoying the group rides and he's really looking forward to us meeting our donation goal, and making a new van purchase for the Salvation Army a reality!
When asked why he felt it is important to support your local food bank Shawn said, "It feels good to give back and know you're making a difference. Every donation, even small ones help tackle some of the immediate needs and may even put a smile on someone's face. Simply put, it's the right thing to do!

Our next rider to be profiled is David Clement. David has been a lifelong resident of Paris and he has done quite a bit for the community over the years.
David began cycling as a way to lose weight and he fell in love with cycling. He signed up for the Bellwether Bike Ride as a memorable sporting event for his 60th birthday - coincidentally enough he did his longest ride to-date on his 60th birthday - 60 miles!
When asked about why David feels it's important to give back to the community he said, "The volunteer sector is cruical to the overall well being of our community. Volunteers bring a special passion to their projects that accomplish things that government can't."

Rider Profile: Frank Carnevale
Frank is one of the Bellwether Bike Ride's riders for 2024. Joining his brother Leo. Frank was introduced to cycling as he was looking for a low impact form of exercise because he was suffering from knee pain.
On top of cycling, Frank enjoys riding motorcycles, weight training and playing hockey. Frank will be doing his first 100 Km bike ride later this month on one of our training rides, and he's looking forward to the challenge the Bellwether Bike Ride presents.
When asked about the need to support your local food bank, Frank understands that inflation has caused food prices to rise, and many more families are using the services their local food bank provides.

Most of the riders were out for the June long training ride. 90 Kms and all of the elevation County of Brant has to offer.
A happy birthday to one of our riders who turned 60 today and did 90 Kms on a MOUNTAIN BIKE!
True to the words “don’t buy upgrades, ride up grades.”

2024 Planning is Under Way!! 2024 will bring another exciting new route.
Do you have a passion for supporting your community, and living a healthy and active lifestyle? The Bellwether Bike Ride is a great cause, and an incredible experience.
Read what Leo Carnevale had to say about his experience last year:
"It was a great ride with amazing support! I’m so grateful and honored to be participating in an event to raise money for a great cause! Preparing for this event changed my life in many ways and I questioned myself continuously wether or not I could complete the whole ride.
The on going support from Dale and his experience and knowledge kept my confidence positive, and riding together for over 12 hours in two days was a pleasure!
Can’t wait to do it again next year with more riders!"

Two epic days, 362 Kms of riding, dozens of baked goods consumed; and the riders are home safe and sound and ready for next year!
The ride is complete, but the fundraising is not!
Please continue to help us raise funds the The Salvation Army Brantford & Paris Community & Family Services Food Bank!
