Brantford Youth Dart League

The dart year is almost over and the players are saying good bye and hoping to see some new faces next September.

This past weekend Darts Ontario held the Provincial Youth Championships in Toronto, with players from all over Ontario buying for a spot on the Team Ontario. The BRANTFORD YOUTH DART LEAGUE had 6 players who qualified in singles and doubles in the Junior Division. After many wins and a few losses the teams play ended Sunday just short of the finals. The BYDL had 2 players finish in the top 8 and one who had his first 180 in competition.
Darts Ontario had there inaugural Tyke Tournament on Saturday and to my surprise BYDL Tyke, Tristan showed up to play. Being a first for Darts Ontario, all the tykes were WINNERS!
All the kids had a great time, being great ambassadors of the Brantford Youth Dart League and enjoying the competition and camaraderie that comes from a weekend away.

Congratulations to the Norfolk County Youth Dart League on their successful fundraiser; the Youth / Adult Dart Tournament held on Sunday. The Brantford Youth Dart League was represented by 8 players with adult partners, many of the kids were nervous and excited, this being their first non-league tournament. They played extremely well as did all the players; Kayden with partner Steve Balicki finished joint 3rd and were a double away from the finals.
Thank you to everyone who came out, it was an enjoyable day for a worthy cause.

NORFOLK COUNTY YOUTH DARTS

The BYDL hosted the Western Ontario Tyke Championship at the Navy Club this past Sunday. Kids from all over Western Ontario, ages 6 to 12 competed in doubles to find out who would represent the West in the Ontario Championships in Toronto next month. Brantford was represented by 3 teams; Ashton & Emilie, Emma & Tristan and Miley & Emmett, all of whom threw extremely well; two of which finished joint 5th. A team from London was victorious and will be great representatives at the Ontario Championships.
Special THANKS to the Navy Club for allowing us to use their facilities and to Fred, who wove his magic in the kitchen for 7 hours.
Thanks Jay for your computer wizardry which made the Certificate of Participation a reality.
Also thanks to Marilyn and Pam who helped on the floor.
Finally to 2 of BYDL junior players who both spent the entire day working to make the Tournament the success it was. MacKenzie, in the kitchen being Fred's assistant and never stopping. Sebastiaan who scored, coached and kept the tournament running smoothly.
