🔥 THIS THURSDAY 🔥

What if one evening could remind you who you are?

Not the person paying bills.
Not the person carrying responsibilities.
Not the person taking care of everyone else.

YOU.

The one with dreams.
The one with passion.
The one with a spark that may have gotten buried under life's demands.

This Thursday, we're going to laugh.
We're going to sing.
We're going to move.
We're going to connect.
We're going to tell stories.
We're going to share ideas.
We're going to inspire each other.

And yes... there may even be a few tears, because sometimes remembering who you are is a powerful thing.

This is not an exercise class.
This is not a lecture.
This is not a performance.

This is an experience.

An evening of motivation, movement, music, laughter, conversation, community, and connection.

✨ ALL AGES WELCOME
✨ COMPLETELY FREE
✨ EVERYONE BELONGS

📅 Thursday, June 18
🕕 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
📍 Aspira Brant's Landing Theatre

Afterwards, stay for photos, conversation, and a meet-and-greet. I'll also have signed copies of my book Walking My Way Back to Me available.

If you've ever attended one of my events, I'd love for you to comment below and tell people what they can expect.

And if this message speaks to you, please SHARE it.

Let's fill the room.
Let's lift each other up.
Let's keep saying YES to the spark. 🔥✨

HUNKA BURNIN' LOVE DANCE PARTY 🔥
🎵 A Salute to the King 🎵

Looking for a fun Friday night out?

Grab your dancing shoes and join us on Friday, June 26th for an evening of music, dancing, laughter, and great company at the Blessed Sacrament Parish Hall in Burford!

Whether you're an experienced dancer or have never tried line dancing before, this is a night designed for everyone.

✨ WHAT TO EXPECT:

⭐ Line dance lessons throughout the evening
⭐ Open dance floor and DJ requests
⭐ Easy-to-follow demonstrations
⭐ Music from a variety of genres and decades
⭐ Plenty of classic Elvis favourites mixed into the playlist
⭐ Special appearance by STOMPtastic with their award-winning Elvis salute
⭐ A welcoming, beginner-friendly atmosphere
⭐ Refreshments available for a minimal cost, including hot and cold beverages

This is a dry event, making it a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a night out focused on music, dancing, and community.

As an Elvis fan and Director of the Brantford Elvis Festival, I've always loved finding new ways to celebrate the music and legacy of the King. June 26th also marks the anniversary of Elvis's final live concert, making it the perfect occasion for a Burnin' Love-themed dance party.

And while this evening will be a fantastic celebration on its own, it also offers a small preview of some exciting Elvis-themed plans already in the works for next year as we approach the 50th anniversary of Elvis's passing.

📍 Blessed Sacrament Parish Hall
181 King Street, Burford
📅 Friday, June 26
⏰ 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
💲 $5 per person

Hosted by Brantford Line Dancing and Blessed Sacrament Parish

TONIGHT

05/26/2026

One of my Zumba participants said something to me today that really stuck with me. She said, “Joan, it’s like you’re everywhere right now.”

And honestly, I’m always a little taken aback when people say that, because in my mind, I’ve always BEEN everywhere. I’ve always been involved. I’ve always had my hands in music, movement, teaching, community events, helping people, organizing things, and just showing up wherever I can.

But I guess what’s different now is that people are really SEEING me again. My presence is being felt more publicly again, and maybe there was a time when some people thought I had stepped away or faded into the background a little. I don’t know why people thought that, but I’m realizing lately that people are noticing me in a very visible way again.

And truthfully? I love it.

I love being involved in my community. I love seeing people. I love creating spaces where people can move, laugh, dance, sing, connect, exercise, and feel good about themselves. Whether it’s fitness, dance, Zumba, line dancing, voice, music, my band SIVLE, the Brantford Cabaret, running events, community events, or just encouraging someone who needs it, that’s who I am.

I bump into people everywhere lately — the mall, Tim Hortons, community events — and they all say the same thing:

“Joan, you’re everywhere.”
“You’re doing everything.”

And maybe they’re right.

My motto has always been: say no to nothing.
Not in a reckless way, but in a life-embracing way.

I say yes to connection.
I say yes to creativity.
I say yes to movement.
I say yes to helping.
I say yes to participation.
I say yes to community.

I’m not politically minded, and I’ve never had aspirations of politics, but I do believe deeply in serving my community in the ways I know how. Some people serve from council chambers. I serve from dance floors, microphones, classrooms, church halls, walking groups, fitness studios, stages, and community spaces.
And that matters too.

The beautiful thing is, to me, this is just my life. I’m just being Joan. But when people stop me and say they see me everywhere, I realize maybe what they’re really saying is:

“Your presence is being felt.”

And that’s a pretty beautiful thing.
