Sail Canada announced that Lucas Henderson from Brockville, ON, has been selected Sail Canada 2024 Instructor of the Year, presented by Checklick, as the country celebrates National Coaches Week, an annual event which ends this Sunday.

“I am honoured to be named Sail Canada’s 2024 Instructor of the Year,” said Lucas Henderson. “I began instructing to give back to the Brockville Yacht Club and the community that inspired my passion for sailing. Whether it is for young sailors discovering the sport for the first time or adults finding a new passion later in life, my goal has always been to make sure they leave the water with a smile. At the end of the day, if the sailors are happy, I’m happy. This award is a reflection of the entire Brockville sailing community that continues to inspire and support me, and I’m grateful to Sail Canada and Checklick for this recognition.”

Voile Canada a annoncé que Lucas Henderson de Brockville, en Ontario, a été sélectionné à titre d’Instructeur de l’année 2024 de Voile Canada, présenté par Checklick, alors que le pays célèbre la Semaine nationale des entraîneurs, un événement annuel qui se terminera ce dimanche.

« Je suis honoré d'avoir été nommé Instructeur de l'année 2024 par Voile Canada », a déclaré Lucas Henderson. « J'ai commencé à enseigner pour redonner au Brockville Yacht Club et à la communauté qui ont inspiré ma passion pour la voile. Qu'il s'agisse de jeunes navigateurs qui découvrent ce sport pour la première fois ou d'adultes qui se découvrent une nouvelle passion sur le t**d, mon objectif a toujours été de m'assurer qu'ils sortent de l'eau avec le sourire. Thank you so much for all of the continued support of our BYC community as we near a HUGE milestone of $15,000 in our Raise the Sail fundraiser. In two weeks, we have raised a total of $13,874!
We have been blown away by the generosity we’ve received so far and by all of the help in spreading the word about our fundraiser.
With this momentum, we hope that we will be able to reach our goal and be able to purchase new boats & equipment to benefit our youth sailing program for years to come ⛵️

Welcome back sailors! We’re super excited to be kicking off session two of sailing at the BYC ⛵️⛵️⛵️
We had a blast last session and are sure this one will be just as good 🤙🏼☀️🌊

Attention all Sailors! The Brockville Yacht Club Sailing School is officially reopening for the 3rd and 4th sessions of the summer! Due to current regulations and guidelines, sailing will be different than usual this year, and we hope to run a safe, healthy day camp for our sailors, provided all rules can be followed while camp is in session. While session 3 is currently full, we are looking to possibly add another group beginning on the second week. Limited spots are also available in the 4th session. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our director, Terry Gardiner.We hope to see everyone and have an exciting summer!
