fitness isn't just about your muscular or cardio endurance. it's also about your overall well-being.
yes, lifting weights and cardio are great and will help with your endurance and strength, but are you also taking into consideration your mental, emotional, and spiritual health?
we decided to invest in our overall well-being by purchasing a sauna, and let me tell you, it's been a game changer.
if your gym (or friend π) has a sauna; incorporate that into your fitness routine.

- your vibe attracts your tribe.
i made a promise to myself this year that i was going to protect my peace. by doing so, i will invest my time to be surrounded by those who inspire me, who lift me up, who challenge me to be better, who nourish my soul, who accept me.
in turn, i will try to radiate love, compassion, peace, joy & and little slice of adventure.
what vibes are you putting out there?

to some, this is a picture of 2 sets of weights, but to me, it's progress. i always struggled with upper body strength; i was never interested in doing it, i could never do a push-up - i always felt defeated, and i'd give up. not this year. not this time. i made a promise to myself this year, and i am *finally* seeing the results.
what started off as using 5 / 8lbs for different upper body exercises is now 10 / 15lbs.
progress will look different for everyone - we all start somewhere. just remember to celebrate every victory, no matter how small or little you think it may be.
"a little progress each day adds up to big results"

- a lot of research and prep work goes into building classes. i spend a lot of time making sure my classes incorporate a full body workout, targeting as many muscle groups as possible.
i've always loved a good leg day, but building my upper body strength is something i'm striving for this year.
i finish off every class with a core block. the center of our body; the harmony between our lower and upper body. training our core leads to better balance and stability.
what's your favourite area to train?

- if you're not going to hold yourself accountable, who will?
there are 4 more weeks until the new year. why not get a kick start on any resolutions you may have.

- when every circumstance around you is telling you "no," listen to that little voice telling you "yes".
the only workout you'll regret is the one that didn't happen.
life is too short. don't live it with regrets.

i'll let you in on a little secret...
the truth is, there isn't one.
it's hard work & consistency.
it's dedication & determination.
it's showing up even when you don't want to.
it's holding yourself accountable.
it's listening to what your body needs.
it's nourishing your body.
it's going that one step further when everyone else has quit.
it's allowing your body to recover.
find a routine that works for you and hold onto it.

- regardless of what your day holds, how busy you are, or how exhausted you feel; always find movement.
set aside 5, 10, or 15 mins everyday to "move." it could be going for a walk, a bike ride, yoga, or a stretching sequence.
your body will thank you.

- at some point, you will fall off the wagon. the difference between those who succeed and those who fail is having the courage to get back on it again.
now, fix your pony, and slay those goals.
EVERYday is a new day, a fresh start.
go get 'em.
