Last night my dad passed away following an unexpected and difficult 24 hours.
Many of you know him through hockey and his time as a coach, and some of you knew him as family or a friend. No matter how you knew my dad, you know the kind of person he was, strong, smart, dedicated, a man of character.
In my life I knew him as a man who always showed up for me. He coached me in many sports, even with some of his physical disadvantages, never letting them slow him down. He showed me how a father and leader should act, and how a man puts his family first.
I love my dad and feel incredibly blessed to have had him in my life. I’m going to miss him deeply, as I always imagined him there to see everything unfold in my life, good or bad.
Thank you to everyone who reached out and offered support. It truly means the world to me and my family.
