We are bursting with pride to give a massive shout-out to our very own Club President, Susan Kirkby, on her induction into the Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame (Class of 2025)!

Susan has been the backbone of Burnaby Lacrosse since 2004. From her tireless work as Registrar and President to her leadership of the iconic Jack Crosby Tournament, she is the definition of a "Builder." Her dedication has earned her the Ruth Seward Award and now, a permanent place among Burnaby’s sporting legends.

We couldn’t be more proud to have our club president being honoured for the Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame, for decades of selfless service to our community!

Being inducted into the HOF is a testament to Susan’s dedication and hard work over many many years. From managing team mergers, allocating floor times, organizing the Crosby tournament and the millions of other tasks that go on behind the scenes to keep a lacrosse club moving forward, Susan Kirkby has been the backbone of our club.

Let’s show our support as a club and all come out and support Susan!

Introducing Susan Kirkby representing Lacrosse as a Builder in the Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2025 Induction.

Susan Kirkby has been a Burnaby Minor Lacrosse Club executive and its registrar since 2004. She has been its president since 2022. In 2010, after Burnaby’s “Mr. Lacrosse’ Jack Crosby, a Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame Honoured Member inducted in its first class in 2001, passed away in 2008 Kirkby became the head organizer for the minor lacrosse tournament named after him that had begun in 2004. Kirkby’s tireless efforts have been recognized with awards both by Burnaby Minor Lacrosse and the BC Lacrosse Association, which gave her the Ruth Seward Award in 2011. She also served as second vice-president and first vice-president of the BMLA between 2009 and 2022.

Whether you’re a multi-sport athlete looking to stay in shape or you’ve never picked up a stick in your life, we want YOU on the floor.
Come see why Lacrosse is the fastest game on two feet—completely FREE of charge!

🧤 NO GEAR? NO PROBLEM!
Don't let a lack of equipment stop you. All you need to bring is a helmet (a hockey helmet works great!). We will provide the sticks and soft balls for the session. Just show up in your runners and be ready to have some fun!

📣 TO OUR REGISTERED LAKERS:
We need your help to grow the game!
1. Invite a friend (or three!) to come try the sport for free.
2. Bring your gear and get an extra practice session in while helping your friends learn the ropes!
