Simon Fraser University’s Red Leafs are excited to welcome Makai Allen, a 6’2 guard from Provo, Utah, who joins the program following an outstanding career at Provo High School under Coach Chris Collinsworth. A two-time Utah Player of the Year and state champion, Makai brings a winning pedigree and proven leadership to SFU. This past season, he also broke former Dallas Maverick Kyle Collinsworth’s single-season scoring record at Provo High School.
An explosive athlete and natural leader, Makai competes with a relentless edge and an innate will to win that he credits to his Mom and Dad for instilling in him from an early age. His toughness, athleticism, and drive make him an exciting addition to the Red Leafs program.

BACK HOME. BACK ON THE MOUNTAIN. 🏔️
For the first time since leaving SFU, former teammates Elliot Dimaculangan and Irish Coquia return to West Gym on opposite sides of the floor in what is set to be a special matchup in Burnaby.
After departing SFU last season, Elliot joined the powerhouse UP Fighting Maroons program in the Philippines, while Irish took his talents to NCAA Division I with the University of New Orleans Privateers. Now, both return to the Mountain to battle it out once again.
Elliot will suit up for the UP Fighting Maroons, a program loaded with elite talent and one of the premier basketball programs in the Philippines 🇵🇭
Irish will represent the Drive Allstars alongside some of Vancouver’s top hoopers, ready to defend home court in front of the city.

The Battle is Here!
The Mountain is set for a special one on June 13 at SFU West Gym as the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons bring their elite level program to Vancouver to face the Drive Basketball Allstars in a matchup that is shaping up to be must see basketball.
The Fighting Maroons arrive with high level talent, strong chemistry, and a winning culture built on pace, discipline, and skill. This is a program known for producing top tier competitors who thrive in big moments and play with intensity from start to finish.
On the other side, the Drive Basketball Allstars will be representing some of Vancouver’s best hoopers. A group built on local pride, toughness, and high level shot making, ready to defend home court against a serious international challenge.
Two teams, two styles, and one stage. Expect pace, physicality, big time plays, and a crowd that brings the energy from the opening tip.

Simon Fraser University’s Red Leafs are excited to welcome David Hansen, a 6’9 forward from Magrath, Alberta, who transfers to SFU from Division I Weber State University. David excelled at well coached prep Program under Coach Adam Huffman, and had an outstanding Highschool career at Magrath High school with Coach Chris Steed.
A pure shooter with great length and feel for the game, David understands what it takes to impact winning at a high level. His versatility, basketball IQ, and ability to stretch the floor make him an exciting addition to the Red Leafs program.

A BioSteel All-Canadian participant, Saad has proven himself among top-level talent.
A versatile forward with the ability to stretch the floor, Saad combines size, athleticism, and skill to impact the game on both ends. His shooting touch and mobility make him a tough matchup, while his upside and work ethic make him an exciting addition to the Red Leafs program.
