Latest update on the reopening of the course:
In consultation between the City of Calgary, ATCO, Parks Foundation Calgary, and the Calgary Disc Golf Club, the David Richardson Memorial Disc Golf Course will remain closed over the winter. Although construction of the 14km natural gas pipeline has been completed, both ATCO and the City of Calgary are still working to ensure the course is returned to its original condition. Due to the challenging growing conditions experienced in 2021, the restoration phase is ongoing, and the course is anticipated to fully open to the public in July 2022.
There will be no public access to the course until this date. The baskets for the course have not yet been re-installed to ensure that the course will be in optimal condition when users return to play next summer. Thank you for your on-going patience and we can’t wait to fully welcome back players soon!

The baskets were removed from the course this weekend to prevent people from playing until such time as the restoration is completed and we can reopen the course.
07/08/2021
There have been reports of people still playing the course.
PLEASE DO NOT PLAY THE COURSE. It is still closed and will not be open until Fall 2021.
We do not want to risk losing the course so please choose another course until it is reopen to play.

There have been a few people asking, so to clarify...
The course is closed. Please do not attempt to play any of the holes. If people are seen playing, the baskets will be removed and put into storage until the course reopens.
We're as eager as you are to get out and play but until it's ok to do so, please choose another course.

Heads up about a few hornets nests.
There is a visible nest in the trees past basket #5 to the right of the path leading towards #6 tee.
There is a visible nest behind basket #9 in the trees (long and to the left).
We've also had a report of someone getting stung on the path leading to the #7 teepad from the parking lot off Country Hills.
If your disc goes in any of these places, please be careful. We've had a few people already get stung and will be reaching out to the city to see about having these removed.
