Tucker Hockey proudly welcomed Damian Miah as our new Full-Time Mentoring Head On-Ice Instructor / Hockey Operations in April 2026.

A lifelong student of the game with a deep passion for hockey, Damian brings a unique blend of playing experience, coaching expertise, and a relentless commitment to player development.

From his beginnings in Windsor, Ontario, to building his coaching career in Alberta, he has dedicated himself to helping athletes of all ages and skill levels reach their potential.

Known for his energy, enthusiasm, and growth mindset, he has worked with everyone from first-time skaters to elite-level players, continually investing in his own development through coaching certifications, mentorship opportunities, and leading player development programs.

Damian believes that hockey is “Poetry in Motion”. This is reflected in his passion and purpose which Damian brings to every athlete, every session, and every opportunity to help players grow both on and off the ice.

Congratulations to Kyle, the 2026 Q1 Bradley Mersereau Memorial Adult Award Recipient!

Kyle’s journey embodies the spirit of this award. After taking up hockey at age 40 to spend more time on the ice with his children, he has embraced every challenge with humility, dedication, and a genuine love of learning. Through the Tucker Hockey Adult Technical Skills / Fundamentals sessions, Kyle has continually worked to improve while making the most of every opportunity to create lasting memories with his family.

When reflecting on the award, Kyle shared that its emphasis on valuing family time and never pretending to be a great skater or hockey player "rings true" for him—and we couldn't agree more.

🌎🏒 From China to Canada for the Love of Hockey!

In February 2026, Tucker Hockey had the privilege of welcoming Isaac, a 10-year-old defenceman from Shenzhen, China, who travelled all the way to Calgary to experience Canadian hockey firsthand.

Despite coming from a place where hockey isn't common, Isaac's passion, work ethic, and love for the game were evident every time he stepped on the ice. He embraced the opportunity to train with our coaches, make new friends, and experience that hockey truly has no borders.

Isaac shared that one of his favourite parts of Tucker Hockey was discovering that even with different languages and cultures, players connect through the game. He also loved the supportive coaching environment and the chance to improve his skills alongside Canadian players.

We're so grateful Isaac and his family chose Tucker Hockey during their visit to Canada. Keep working hard, Isaac—we know your dedication will take you far, and we hope to see you back in Calgary again soon! 🏒
