Introducing Darlene, our Programs and Administration Coordinator!

Darlene has been part of the AEF team since October 2024, and as one of the first people members connect with, she helps answer questions, supports office operations, assists with events and store orders, and helps coordinate programs such as Learn to Ride, Ride & Drive, and Live Outside the Box.

With a lifelong background around horses, Darlene enjoys being able to support Alberta’s equestrian community and share her experience whenever she can. Helping riders access programs, resources, and safety information is a part of the role she finds especially rewarding.

Outside of work, Darlene enjoys spending time in her garden, relaxing in the sunshine, and reflecting on the many years she spent around horses 🐴☀️

This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the incredible dads, father figures, and mentors who support, encourage, and inspire both in and out of the saddle. 💙

From early mornings at the barn to hauling horses across the province, from lending a hand around the stable to cheering from the sidelines, your dedication helps build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of horses.

To all the horse dads, coaches, volunteers, and caregivers in our community: thank you for the strength, support, and commitment you bring every single day.

Wishing you a wonderful Father’s Day filled with appreciation, great memories, and perhaps a little extra time with your favourite four-legged partner.

The Alberta Equestrian Federation extends our heartfelt congratulations to NT Equestrian on the incredible dedication, perseverance, and community spirit you’ve shown in bringing horses back into Yellowknife.

Your commitment to rebuilding equestrian opportunities in the North — especially after such challenging circumstances — is nothing short of inspiring. The work you’re doing doesn’t just restore facilities; it restores hope, connection, and the joy of horsemanship for riders across the Territory.

Thank you for championing equestrian sport in the North and for creating a place where riders, families, and horses can thrive again. We’re cheering you on every step of the way and can’t wait to see the continued growth of the equestrian community in the NWT.

🐴💛 Here’s to resilience, passion, and a bright future for equestrians in Yellowknife and beyond.
