🏗️ July brought plenty of progress at Scotia Place
 
✅ The final layer of the roof is now in place on the west side
✅ Steel installation progressed across the NE quadrant of the roof
✅ Structural steel framing continued on the north restaurants and food hall
✅ Building envelope installation advanced along the north side and around to the northeast corner
✅ Aluminum window frames and glass were installed on the south side
✅ Installation of the precast concrete in the upper main bowl is now complete
✅ The first concrete slab was poured on the event level, giving a first look at where the corner of the ice will sit! 🏒

More progress is on the way throughout the rest of the summer! ☀️

The vision of Scotia Place is becoming a reality right before our eyes. As we enter the homestretch and approach the official opening in the fall of 2027, construction continues to shape Calgary's skyline and help bring Calgary's Culture + Entertainment District to life.

Here are some highlights from the past year:
• July 2025 - 1,000+ cubic metres of concrete were poured for the first portion of the mezzanine and club level
• August 2025 - Mezzanine concrete reached 25% completion
• September 2025 - The main concourse began to take shape
• October 2025 - Steel installation began and the structure started to rise above ground level
• November 2025 - The steel structure expanded quickly, with main concourse steel wrapping the south and west sides of the main arena
• December 2025 - Upper-tier steel installation began on the south side
• January 2026 - Precast concrete installation began, offering a first glimpse of the future seating bowl in the main arena. Work also began on the new 6 Street S.E. Underpass.
• February 2026 - Upper seating areas continued to take form
• March 2026 - The first roof truss was installed
• April 2026 - Exterior building envelope and the first “cauldron” panels were installed on the south side of the building
• May 2026 – Crews began raising 14 Ave SE to improve future accessibility to the surrounding public plazas. Plus, the first structures were installed to support the future 6 Street S.E. Underpass.
• June 2026 – Steel was installed for the ESSO Community Arena main entrance and the steel structure was fully connected around the main bowl in Scotia Place.

🏗️ Construction continued to move full speed ahead in June.
 
✅ Building envelope installation continued to advance on the north side
✅ Roof work progressed on the west side, with installation beginning on the northeast roof truss
✅ Structural steel installation advanced at the northwest entrance and west restaurants
✅ The main arena bowl steel structure is now fully connected
✅ Concrete stadia is now connected around the upper concourse of the main bowl
✅ Significant progress continued on the Esso Community Arena
✅ Work on 14 Avenue S.E. continued, with the road reopened for Stampede
 
More milestones are ahead as construction continues throughout the summer. ☀️

✅ One-third of the arena roof is now complete
✅ Exterior drywall installation advanced on the west side of the cauldron, while final metal panels were installed on the south side
✅ Concrete stadia installation continued on the east side of the upper bowl
✅ Steel installation progressed on the east bowl and Esso Community Arena entrance
✅ Catwalk installation and interior wall construction continue inside the arena
✅ Progress made on raising 14 Ave SE by 2 metres (6.5 feet)

Big milestones taking shape on site last month 🏗️

✅ The main arena roof truss now spans the full width of the seating bowl (341 feet / 104 metres across)
✅ Steel installation continues to climb, reaching the NE entrance and press level while the second roof quadrant takes shape
✅ Precast concrete for the main upper bowl progressed on the north side
✅ Installation of the first exterior cauldron panels is now underway on the south side of the building

Momentum on site this month 🏗️
✅ Major structural steel progress continues, with two roof trusses now in place in the SW corner and steel climbing on the north side for the upper bowl, food hall and the flagship retail store.
✅ Exterior framing and drywall continue along the South side, moving west above the Indoor Plaza and restaurants
✅ Concrete pours continue, including the loading dock and exterior parkade walls
