As the 2025–2026 season comes to an end, we want to congratulate all of our Eastman skaters on an incredible year!
From early morning practices and race weekends to, many laughs, and milestones along the way, this season created so many memories that made it special. The dedication and sportsmanship shown by our athletes all season long was something to be proud of.
A huge thank you to our coaches, volunteers, officials, and families for the time, encouragement, and support you give throughout the year. Our club would not be possible without all of you.
Most importantly, thank you to our skaters for the energy and heart you bring to the ice every week. Watching everyone grow and support one another throughout the season has been amazing.
Congratulations on a fantastic season, Eastman skaters! ❤️⛸️👏

🏆 Coach of the Year – Aaron Carter

This award recognizes a club coach who has shown outstanding commitment to both their club and the development of their athletes — and this year’s recipient, Aaron Carter, truly embodies that in every way.
Aaron brings so much energy, preparation, and care into every practice, competition, and interaction with his athletes. He has an incredible ability to meet each skater where they are at, helping them set realistic goals while still encouraging them to push themselves, improve, and grow.
He focuses not only on the technical side of the sport, but also on building confidence, resilience, and a love for the journey along the way. Aaron is always positive, supportive, and willing to help any athlete — no matter what club they represent — creating an environment where skaters feel encouraged and valued.
His passion for coaching and genuine commitment to athlete development is evident in everything he does, and it makes him incredibly deserving of this recognition.

Congratulations, Aaron, on being named Coach of the Year! 👏🏅

CARDINAL CUP=OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR!
The award and recognition is provided to the SSM member who has performed in an exemplary
fashion in the capacity of an official through logistical support to the sport of speed skating in
Manitoba.

Corrine takes the role of recorder incredibly seriously, dedicating significant time both before
and during competitions to ensure everything runs smoothly. She has served as head recorder
for the Manitoba Winter Games, Eastman Cup, and numerous local competitions, and was
assistant recorder at the Canada Youth Short Track Championships West. Corrine has spent
many evenings and weekends preparing race schedules and managing results, all while
continuing to learn and grow in her role. Her commitment was on full display when she worked
for hours on the bus ride back from Thompson to prepare for the next event. Her dedication,
attention to detail, and positive attitude make her truly deserving of this recognition. Way to go Corrine!

We wrapped up the 2025–2026 season at the annual Speed Skating Manitoba Awards Ceremony at the beginning of the month. A huge congratulations to all of our athletes! These are just some of the medal winners from events throughout the season.
Everyone should be incredibly proud of their accomplishments this year. From more PB’s than we can keep track of, to National Championship medals, to huge personal growth both on and off the ice — this season was one to remember.
Your hard work, dedication, and determination showed every step of the way.
Way to go, Eastman skaters! 🏅👏
