The Rocky Mountain Ramblers Association is an outdoor club based in Calgary, Alberta.

The Ramblers coordinate over 300 trips per year, including:
•trail and off-trail hiking,
•scrambling and some mountaineering,
•snowshoeing,
•cross-country skiing (trackset and backcountry),
•and occasionally ski mountaineering, downhill skiing, bicycling and canoeing.

Bear Closure: Highway 40 from Kananaskis Lakes Trail to Highwood Pass: ALL FOOT AND BIKE traffic is PROHIBITED. Multiple bears, including breeding pairs, are valley bottom due to the snowpack AND due to a grizzly bear bluff charge. More info at: https://ow.ly/UMr550Z30ue

🚴‍♀️ The Bow Valley Parkway cycling experience is back! 🚴‍♂️

This experience offers a unique chance to explore the Bow Valley Parkway with no vehicles and more room to ride.

🗓️ Cycling dates:
April 30 - June 25, 2026
September 1 - October 6, 2026

During these periods, the eastern section of the Bow Valley Parkway will be closed to public vehicles to support a more enjoyable biking experience. The road is closed to all users 8 PM-8 AM for wildlife protection

Planning your visit? Here’s what to know ⤵️
🅿️ Start in the Town of Banff and park at the Banff Train Station parking lot. Ride via Vermilion Lakes Drive + the Legacy Trail connector
🚫 No parking along the Trans-Canada Highway (limited accessible parking at the east entrance).
Access remains available:
• Johnston Canyon trail & campground via Castle Junction
• Western section (Johnston Canyon to Lake Louise) remains open to vehicles year-round
🎒Services are limited. Be sure to bring food, water, layers and bike repair tools
🦌 Respect wildlife:
• Give animals plenty of space
• Stay on trail and follow all closures
• Carry bear spray and know how to use it
• Report wildlife encounters to Banff Dispatch: 403-762-1470
