What Is a Rensei Kai?
A Rensei Kai (錬成会) translates to “training forge.” In classical Japanese martial arts, it is an intensive gathering where technique is polished, spirit is tested, and understanding is deepened through sincere keiko.
You attend not to collect techniques or rank—but to refine skill, strengthen resolve, and reconnect with the lineage of the art. A 3-Day Immersive KoKoDo Training Experience

Train with purpose. Refine your skill. Return changed.
The 2026 Rensei Kai is an intensive three-day KoKoDo training experience rooted in traditional Budō. This is not a casual seminar—it is a focused immersion designed to sharpen fundamentals, deepen understanding, and strengthen both technique and spirit. Formally know to many as our gasshuku.
Overview
The Rensei Kai is a traditional “training forge”—a place where repetition, endurance, and sincere keiko refine both skill and character.
Over three days, participants will engage in extended training sessions led by senior instructors in a disciplined, distraction-free environment. This experience is intentionally demanding and deeply rewarding.
What You’ll Gain
Intensive, focused keiko
Direct instruction and correction from senior teachers
Refinement of core principles through repetition
Pressure-tested technique
Strong connection to community and lineage
Many practitioners describe Rensei Kai training as years of insight compressed into a single weekend.
