Better late than never! The 2023 @bigwhiterally wrap-up is finally here 🤘🏼 These were some of the most challenging conditions ever seen at Big White. Very little snow leading up to the rally meant little to no snowbanks, resulting in some stages being cancelled. The ones that did run were all ice covered & then the blizzard started, leaving us with over 10cm of fresh powder to plow through on the monster 32km Gem-Falcon stage. The event itself for us was going really well (until it didn’t). We were as high as 4th overall @crcrally, fighting with @crtrallyteam which was a massive surprise. Our fight wasn’t with them, as the goal was to bring home the 2023 @wcrcrally Novice Driver title, which we managed to do 🤘🏼 the fairytale would be short lived however, as we unfortunately got off-line & got sucked into some soft fresh snow at a low speed, got high-centred & had to wait for @beastsweep to pull us out. Swipe to the last slide to see the on-board. This unfortunately meant we were time-barred and out of the rally. We did manage to win the Regional 1 event overall, which was awesome, but ultimately we were left with a bittersweet taste in our mouths as we were on pace for a very strong national finish with overall podium championship points on the line. Lessons were learned, fun was had, & 2024 prep will begin immediately after a much needed holiday break. Another is in the books and we came home with another podium in some slick conditions! P3 overall after a small (and very lucky) visit in a ditch resulted in just a flat that we drove out for the last 8km of SS3. Great battles with all day but ultimately he and Jamie kept their noses clean while ours were in the ditch. Great prep event for the in 6 weeks! Smiles all around 😁
