BETTER GOLF STARTS WITH BETTER INSTRUCTION. ⛳

Every golfer moves differently. Understanding how your body moves and how it influences your golf swing is key to making meaningful, lasting improvements.

At Dynamic Motion Golf Performance, our PGA of Canada Professionals combine video swing analysis, TrackMan technology, and hands-on coaching to identify opportunities for improvement and develop a plan tailored to your game.

Our approach focuses on:

🏌️ Understanding your swing mechanics

🏌️ Identifying movement patterns that affect performance

🏌️ Building more efficient, repeatable movements

🏌️ Improving consistency, speed, and ball striking

As a Kinesiologist, PGA of Canada Professional, wife, mother of two, and owner of Dynamic Motion Golf Performance, I never expected to hear the word cancer.

In the spring of 2023, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple-Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.

My world changed, but I was determined not to let my diagnosis define me.

The incredible support I received from the golf community, fitness community, my family, and my friends helped me face cancer head-on.

I trained. I fought. I stayed positive. I never gave up.

Throughout my treatment, I continued to believe in the importance of movement, strength, and taking an active role in my health. With advances in treatment, the care of an incredible medical and surgical team, and the support of so many people around me, I was able to come through one of the greatest challenges of my life.

Today, I am incredibly grateful to be on the other side of that diagnosis and hopeful that cancer is behind me for good.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I’m sharing my story in the hope that it can offer strength to someone else facing this disease—and help raise awareness and support for continued advancements in breast cancer research, treatment, and care.

To everyone currently fighting: keep moving forward, one day at a time.

And to everyone who supported me through my journey: thank you. Your support meant more than you will ever know. đź’—

LOWER BODY SEPARATION, ROTATION & SPEED

Want more speed in your golf swing? Start with how well your hips and spine can separate, rotate, and work together.

A powerful lower body starts with the ability to separate and rotate effectively. This requires good mobility, strength, and capacity through the hips and spine.

First, develop the ability to isolate and control quality movement through the hips and spine. Then integrate those movements together before progressing to coordination and speed.

In this video series, we first prepare the low back and hips to improve joint motion before training the movement pattern. This helps optimize rotation, improve control, and reduce unnecessary compensation.

Mobilize → Isolate → Coordinate → Add Speed

Build the movement. Build the control. Then build the speed.

1. MOBILIZE | ACCESS YOUR MOVEMENT
Mobility is more than flexibility. It's the combination of flexibility, strength, and control. Develop the ability to actively access and control your joints through their available ranges of motion, creating the foundation for efficient, powerful movement.

2. STRENGTHEN | BUILD TISSUE RESILIENCE
Your golf swing generates tremendous forces. Your tissues must have the capacity to absorb, control, and transfer those forces. Strengthen the tissues that support your swing, then integrate that strength into golf-specific movement patterns. Build a body that can handle the demands of your game.

3. CREATE SPEED | TRAIN FAST TO SWING FAST
Strength creates the foundation. Speed training develops your ability to generate force rapidly. Once you've developed the capacity to absorb and control force, progressively train your nervous system to generate and transfer force at higher speeds.

Develop explosive power, improve coordination, and unlock your swing speed potential.

So many golfers struggle with stiff hips and lower backs, not simply because they need to stretch more, but because they’ve lost access to the deeper function of their hips and spine.

The first step is learning how to breathe effectively with your diaphragm. Proper breathing can help reduce unnecessary tension and guarding through the larger muscles, creating an opportunity to move deeper.

From there, we can begin to layer down—moving past the bigger, more superficial muscles to access the deeper tissues and joint structures responsible for control, stability, and quality movement.

Once we can access these deeper layers, we can begin to build strength and control from the inside out.

Better access → Better control → More strength → More power.

Is it time to reassess where your body is at and set some new goals for the off-season? 🏌️‍♂️

After a full golf season, your body may be tired, overused, and in need of some focused attention. The off-season is the perfect time to reassess your mobility, movement, strength, and power and create a clear plan for the months ahead.

Build a stronger back and shoulders to improve your power and consistency.

This single-arm rotational row is a great exercise to develop the connection between your scapula (shoulder blade), core, and arm.

Many golfers initiate the downswing with the arms, limiting their ability to generate power from the ground up. Your scapula is the key link between your arm and your core, allowing force to transfer efficiently through the body and into the club.

By improving the strength, stability, and coordination of the scapula, you’ll create a more connected swing, generate more power, and improve consistency.
