The 2017 Season for Cavaliers Sports Club has been a very successful one.
*50 Over 2017 Season: As a result of the standings, Cavaliers 1 earns promotion to Premier Division for 2018 season. Cavaliers 3 earns promotion to Division 1 for 2018 season. Heartiest congratulations to both the teams!
*T20 2017 Season: Earlier in the season, Cavaliers 1 finished runners-up in Div 2 of T20 season, and earned promotion to Div 1 for 2018 season.

The last weekend was a tough one for Cavaliers as Cavaliers 3 missed the chance to make it to finals of Div 2 by a whisker. Bowling first, Cavs 3 leaked enough runs to allow the opposition to post mammoth 428-8 in 40.3 ovs. While Batting, Cavs 3 were always kept in the hunt by outstanding innings by S Jagirdhar 140 {14 4s / 1 6s} and quality hitting from F Ullah 86 {5 4s / 8 6s}, but fell short by 41 runs, 383-8 in 50 ovs.
*Match Result: Cavaliers 3 lost to Falcons Victorians by 41 runs

The last weekend of the 2017 C&DCL season has arrived, and this weekend will feature Cavaliers 3 taking on Falcons Victorians in Div 2 Semi-Finals. We urge all Cavaliers to come support their team at Inland Small, on Sat 09/30 from 11:00 am onwards.

Matchday 16 involved only Cavaliers 1 taking on Kanata Panthers 2 in their last game of the season. Batting first, K Ahuja 83 (74) helped Cavs 1 post 201-10 in 33.1 ovs. During bowling, Cavs 1 were unable to restrict KP 2 who chased the target 202-6 in 33 ovs. R Javed 7-0-41-2 was the standout bowler.

Cavaliers 3 have made chasing totals look an effortless task as they once again chased down a hefty total of 286. Bowling first, Cavaliers 3 conceded some runs to allow the opposition put 286-7 in 50 ovs. F Iqbal 10-0-62-3 was the standout bowler. Chasing a massive total, Cavaliers 3 never went behind the RR and successfully completed the chase 290-5 in 48.3 overs. There were 3 half centurions - S Mamdekar 51, R Gadagotti 80 and N Jammula 60*.

Cavaliers 1 won both their games on the weekend, but both were close finishes.
*Cavaliers 1 v Kings 3: Cavaliers 1 won by 22 runs
P Addala 35 (47) and R Javed 64 (68) thrashed the opposition bowling to put 219-8 in 35 ovs on the board. While bowling, Cavs 1 restricted the opposition for 197-8 in 35 ovs, where our best batsman P Addala 7-0-31-2 and R Javed 7-0-32-2 came to the team's rescue.
*Cavaliers 1 v St. Johns 2: Cavaliers 1 won by 17 runs
Magnificent batting by K Ahuja 121 (18 4s & 2 6s) and A Javaid 44 (28) put 265-9 in 35 ovs. St. Johns 2 came close to chasing the target but crucial wickets from A Javaid 7-0-54-2 and A Chhabra 7-0-45-3 restricted the opposition to 248-9 in 35 ovs.
With this weekend's results, Cavaliers 1 move one place up to #5 in standings, having played 1 game more than the rest.

Cavaliers 3 made 8 wins a row with an emphatic victory over United Warriors.
Cavs 3 showed some fantastic bowling performance and bowled out the opposition for 110 in 26 overs. N Jammula, who got three scalps in 1 over (1-1-0-3) and M Khan 3-1-8-2 were the standout bowlers. Chasing a low total can be tricky sometimes, but A Kamran 28 (77) and N Jammula 30 (57) made it look easy-peasy with 6 wkts & 18 ovs to spare.

Matchday 14 was not a great one for Cavaliers as a whole as one of the teams had to suffer losses in two nail-bitting matches.
*Cavaliers 2 v Ahmadiyya 2: Cavaliers 2 lost by 5 wkts
Batting first, Cavs 2 put 200-9 in 40.4 overs with standout batting from I Sharma 58 (72) and W Khan 37 (46). Ahmadiyya 2 chased the total with 5 wkts in hand.
*Cavaliers 2 v St. Johns 3: Cavaliers 2 lost by 7 runs
Bowling first, Cavs 2 restricted the opposition for 92-8 in 35 ovs, some excellent bowling from G Birdi 7-0-0-3 did the trick. Cavs 2 came very close to a successful chase but fell short by 7 runs at 85 all out in 34.2 ovs.
As a result of this weekend, Cavaliers 2 retain #3 in standings but closely chased by Falcons Victorians.
