I constantly get jealous that this wasn’t around more when I was growing up! Such a great addition to the school gym curriculum for the kids that don’t necessarily love team sports.

These traverse walls are affordable, safe, aesthetically pleasing, and can be installed quickly. They teach kiddos how to move and balance, and can really increase coordination.

As climbers, there is one other part that we have to mention.. climbing develops amazing problem solving skills and instills determination. Something that everyone needs to learn at some point 😜

Magic Lab is Hiring!
Come help us build the climbing walls for our project at CCC Chinook

Magic Lab (a sister company of the CCC) is hiring full-time laborers to start immediately, that will help build the climbing walls for the Calgary Climbing Centre.
We require someone in the shop to finish with fabrication, and then join the rest of the install team on site to finish the project up.

Successful applicants MUST have their own vehicle or means of transportation, their own P.P.E (steel toes, hard hat, reflective vest, safety glass ect.) current first-aid as well as a valid lift ticket.

Previous experience and knowledge using tools, CNC machines and woodworking considered an asset but is not required. Other advantages include indoor/outdoor climbing experience.

Must be fit and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Wage: Wage is dependant on experience (more experience will warrant a higher wage)

Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 5:00pm (10 hour days, 4 day weeks)

Job Type: Temporary (until the end of the project)

It's alive! The is lit up but not quite fully operational. Draws are also going up on the route wall and is hard at work on the floor!

We're starting the finishing touches at Chinook this week! The final design is going on the wall and space is being cleared for the flooring to start up!

With steel out of the way it's time for panels and the team is making quick work of them! The colour scheme might look a little funny now but wait till you see the final product!

This week the crew was hard at work putting up the steel structure for the Kilterboard and session wall you saw in last week's post. In addition they found the time to start panelling the slab section of the route walls!
